Candidates moved to Jokes

All 23 candidates listed here (31 cards) moved to Jokes on 26 October 2026, on Bill's call (25 October 2026). Sabe stays dropped. The earlier table is kept in the history of Talk:Jokes. Comlink Cursor (talk) 03:51, 26 October 2026 (UTC)

Inclusion of the former candidates

  • Bill's call (25 October 2026): every former candidate counts as a joke. Each row states the joke plainly and cites the work it refers to, with no claim about why Decipher wrote it.
  • New types: Wordplay, Decipher in-joke and Film in-joke. Bravo Fighter is a Film in-joke, not a cast and crew nod, because it quotes Anakin in The Phantom Menace.
  • Rows with no outside work to cite are stated from the card face: Tunnel Vision, Encampment, Light Maneuvers, Lift Tube Escape, Cyborg Construct, Jabba's Palace Sabacc and Ewok And Roll.
  • Mandalorian Mishap now says only that Boba Fett is swallowed by the Sarlacc; the earlier reading of a scream was cut.
  • Lieutenant Watts: Wookieepedia names Robert Watts's Return of the Jedi role Lieutenant Blanaid; the row says only that the card shares his name.
  • Wayback rate limits on 26 October 2026 blocked some archived web copies. Those rows cite the film or law itself: High Noon, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Empire Strikes Back, The Phantom Menace and the 1969 cigarette warning act. Comlink Cursor (talk) Comlink Cursor (talk) 03:51, 26 October 2026 (UTC)

Rycar Ryjerd framing

  • Bill's view (26 October 2026): "He's an idiot" on Rycar's Run is Decipher joking about the smuggler Rycar Ryjerd, not about his namesake. The same goes for "the terminally insane" on They'd Be Crazy To Follow Us.
  • His reasons: Jerry Darcy was a Decipher employee through 1999, designed sets after Dagobah, including Special Edition, and came up with the idea for Objectives. A jab at him in print is very unlikely.
  • Both entries on Jokes and both card pages now say the lore mocks Rycar, and mention Darcy only as the source of the anagram. No other entry reads as mocking a real person. Comlink Cursor (talk) Comlink Cursor (talk) 11:38, 26 October 2026 (UTC)
  • Follow-up (26 October 2026): Bill asked for the anagram mention to be dropped. The Rycar's Run and They'd Be Crazy To Follow Us entries on Jokes, and both card pages, no longer name Jerry Darcy; they say only that the lore calls Rycar an idiot as a joke. Anagrams is unchanged. Comlink Cursor (talk) 13:57, 26 October 2026 (UTC)

Effective Repairs: the one-hand reading

Bill decided this entry on 26 October 2026, after rewatching the scene. The card's picture is from the short scene early in The Empire Strikes Back where the Millennium Falcon flees Hoth under attack and Han works on the damaged hyperdrive motivator with one hand.[2] That scene comes before Luke lands on Dagobah, and long before Luke loses his hand at Cloud City. Dagobah Limited (April 1997) also came out before Cloud City Limited (November 1997).[3] So the lore is not about Luke's hand or Bionic Hand. It turns the idiom "take matters into his own hands" into "his own hand" for a one-handed repair. The Jokes row and the Effective Repairs card page now say this, and the entry was removed from User:Comlink Cursor/Jokes candidates. Comlink Cursor (talk) 16:01, 26 October 2026 (UTC)

Candidates from the 27 October 2026 card scan

A scan of Decipher cards from Premiere through Theed Palace, Coruscant and Reflections III (no Virtual cards), looking for jokes not yet on Jokes, Easter eggs or Anagrams and not already listed on this Talk page. Each row quotes the card itself, so no outside source is needed. Visual gags and anagrams were left out. Nothing here is on Jokes yet. Bill decides which rows move.

Strong

Card(s) Card text The joke Type
It Could Be Worse, It's Worse It Could Be Worse: "Leia point out, 'It could be worse.' It soon was." It's Worse game text: "If It Could Be Worse was just played, it is canceled..." The Light Side lore ends on a flat punchline, and a Dark Side card titled as the answer exists only to cancel it Running gag
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!, Hypo NOOOOOOOOOOOO! game text: "If you just answered 'no' to a Hypo question, opponent loses 3 Force." Hypo: "You may ask one yes-or-no question about cards in opponent's hand." Luke's scream from the Cloud City duel pays off when a player answers "no" to the interrogation droid's truth-drug question Design gag
Credits Will Do Fine Lore: "'No, they won't!'" The whole lore contradicts the title. Qui-Gon offers Republic credits and Watto turns them down. Film in-joke
Lando System?, Lando's Not A System, He's A Man Lando System? lore: "'Lando's not a system, he's a man.'" A Dagobah card quotes the answer to its own title; the answer became a card title four years later in Reflections III Film in-joke
Who's Scruffy-Looking?, Scruffy-Looking Nerf Herder Who's Scruffy-Looking? game text: "Cancel Scruffy-Looking Nerf Herder or I'd Just As Soon Kiss A Wookiee..." Han's comeback is the card that cancels Leia's insult, and the kiss card besides Film in-joke
Joh Yowza Lore: "Yuzzum musician and thief. Singer for The Max Rebo Band." Game text: "When opponent draws destiny, Joh may 'jam' (place that card face down under Joh)." The band's singer "jams" the opponent's destiny draw Wordplay
Trooper Utris M'toc, Trooper Jerrol Blendin Utris M'toc lore: "Never accepts a bribe." Blendin lore: "Easily bribed." Game text: "Opponent may use 2 Force to 'bribe' (exclude) Blendin from battle." Two Cloud City Wing Guard troopers in one set: the honest one and the corrupt one, whose bribe is a rule Design gag
Wuher Lore: "Gruff, surly, no-blasters-allowed bartender. Hates droids. 'We don't serve their kind here.'" Game text: "If in the Cantina, all weapons and droids there are immediately lost." The bartender's house rules are the game text Design gag
H'nemthe Lore: "The females ritually kill their mates." Game text: "Adds 2 to deploy cost of each opponent's male Imperial when that Imperial is deploying to same or adjacent site." Only male Imperials are slow to come near her. M'iiyoom Onith is the same species. Design gag

Medium

Card(s) Card text The joke Type
R2-D2 (Artoo-Detoo) Lore: "Incorrigible counterpart of a mindless philosopher." Threepio's own insult in A New Hope, "Don't you call me a mindless philosopher", used to describe Threepio Film in-joke
Artoo & •Threepio Lore: "Threepio's extensive experience 'talking' to the Falcon's computer allowed him to pilot the freighter... Artoo, an R-unit droid, provided moral support." The astromech, the droid built to fly ships, is credited with moral support Deadpan lore
Demotion Lore: "Many officers prefer demotion to 'alternative' punishment from Darth Vader." The quoted "alternative" is Vader's choke Deadpan lore
Chewbacca Lore: "Jabba has large bounty on this 'walking carpet.' Friends call him Chewie...or Fuzzball." Leia's "walking carpet" and Han's "Laugh it up, fuzzball" from the films, filed as his nicknames Film in-joke
Bowcaster Lore: "Fires explosive 'quarrels' (which look like blaster bolts)." The bracket owns up to the film's effects: the bowcaster shoots what look like ordinary blaster bolts Film in-joke
Weapon Of A Fallen Mentor Lore: "Darth Maul's complacency in what seemed like imminent victory over the Padawan was his downfall. That, and the lightsaber of Obi-Wan's fallen teacher." The second sentence names the real cause as an afterthought Deadpan lore
Lieutenant Venka Lore: "One of the many noncommissioned personnel promoted to replace the vast number of officers lost during the Death Star disaster." Game text: "Power +2... if the Death Star has been 'blown away.'" He gets stronger once the Death Star is gone, because that is how he got his job Design gag
Commander Desanne Lore: "Due to a political blunder, was stripped of most official duties. Relegated to shuttling dignitaries..." Game text: "Your shuttling, landing and taking off to or from same location is free." His punishment is his game text Design gag
Ortolan Lore: "Squat, floppy-eared food lovers." Game text: "Power and forfeit +2 on Hoth or at Dining Room." The food lovers are strongest in the Dining Room Design gag
E Chu Ta Lore: "'How rude!'" Game text: "One of your protocol droids 'insults' one character present, canceling that character's game text..." A protocol droid's insult is a weapon, and the lore is Threepio's reply Design gag

Weak

Card(s) Card text The joke Type
Cease Fire! Lore: "The amount of time it takes for a subcommand to transfer to an officer battle droid, and then to the rest of his regiment, is .396 of a second." An oddly exact figure as the whole lore Deadpan lore
Dianoga Lore: "'Garbage squid'... Changes color to match last meal. When unfed, turns transparent." The squid's color shows what it ate Deadpan lore
Imperial Command Lore: "Despite this apparent lack of trust, many turn out to be fine commanders." "Many", not all Deadpan lore
Lobel Lore: "Powerful magnetic fields in the Lobel physiology make the operation of nearby navigation devices impossible. Pilots claim these fields also produce headaches." A headache as a side effect, added last Deadpan lore

Promoted to Jokes (Bill's picks): It Could Be Worse and It's Worse (Running gag), NOOOOOOOOOOOO! and Hypo (Design gag), Credits Will Do Fine (Film in-joke), Joh Yowza (Wordplay, explaining all three senses of "jam": musician, stuck card, thief) and Trooper Utris M'toc and Trooper Jerrol Blendin (Design gag). Each card page now has a matching joke text. Comlink Cursor (talk) 13:25, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
Also promoted to Jokes (Bill's picks, items 10 to 19): Bowcaster (Film in-joke), Cease Fire! (Film in-joke), Commander Desanne (Design gag), E Chu Ta (Design gag), Lieutenant Venka (Design gag), Lobel (Design gag), Ortolan (Design gag), Dianoga (Deadpan lore), Imperial Command (Deadpan lore), Weapon Of A Fallen Mentor (Deadpan lore). Each row has the card at 350px, the card text, a full explanation, and a joke= line on the card page. Cease Fire! moved from Deadpan lore to Film in-joke and has a still from the film; Lobel moved from Deadpan lore to Design gag. Comlink Cursor (talk) 13:35, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
Also promoted to Jokes (Bill's picks, items 6 to 9): R2-D2 (Artoo-Detoo) (Film in-joke, as written above), Artoo & Threepio (Deadpan lore, rewritten around how often Artoo saves the heroes: the Death Star garbage masher, Cloud City and the Falcon's hyperdrive, and the blockade of Naboo), Demotion (Deadpan lore, compared with the other cards where Vader kills his own officers) and Chewbacca (Film in-joke: only one friend, Han, ever calls him "fuzzball"). Each card page's joke= now links to its block. Comlink Cursor (talk) 13:46, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Bog-wing removed from Jokes

Bog-wing has been removed from Jokes on 27 October 2026. This was Bill's call. The block compared its lore with the swallow and coconut "weight ratios" scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The card page's joke text was cleared at the same time. The block is in the page history at revision 166700 if anyone wants to bring it back. Comlink Cursor (talk) 12:36, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Film stills for Sudden Impact and This Is Just Wrong (27 October 2026)

Sudden Impact now shows a frame of the Grail Knight saying "He chose... poorly." (File:Joke reference - Grail Knight says He chose poorly in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.jpg, from the Movieclips YouTube clip) in place of the film poster. This Is Just Wrong / This Is Still Wrong now shows the Hoth medical-center kiss (File:Joke reference - Leia kisses Luke in The Empire Strikes Back.jpg). Build notes: the knight's warning "But choose wisely..." is cited to the film itself, since Wikiquote does not carry that line; the kiss frame comes from a fan YouTube clip (Kaotiqx), the cleanest copy of the shot found. Comlink Cursor (talk) 12:45, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Prepare The Chamber and Slayn & Korpil Facilities: sources checked

Prepare The Chamber: Bill asked whether the card refers to laughing gas or drugs.

  • The lore says the TCF32's coolant "is rumored to have a mildly euphoric effect on Ugnaughts" and that "Individuals on TCF32 duty are regarded with envy". It does not name a gas or a drug.[1] The art shows the carbon-freezing pit filled with white vapour.
  • The title matches a stage direction in the script, "Six Ugnaughts frantically prepare the chamber for use." In the script's dialogue Vader says "Reset the chamber for Skywalker"; nobody says "prepare the chamber".[2]
  • Wookieepedia's article on the TCF32 cites only this card. No Wayback copy could be made of it (Save Page Now returned 520), so it is not linked here.
  • The Usenet groups rec.games.trading-cards.misc and rec.arts.sf.starwars.games were searched in full.[3] The card appears in about 125 posts, all about decks, rules or trades. No post mentions the coolant, euphoria, gas or drugs.
  • Saved copies of DeckTech posts and of Decipher's website have no design comment on this lore.
  • Reading (not sourced): the joke is that the work fumes give the workers a mild high, so the job everyone envies is the one next to the freezing pit. Nothing found says the intended reference is laughing gas or any particular drug. The row was changed only to restate the lore exactly ("a job the Ugnaughts compete for" and "make them happy" were looser than the card) and to add the matching script stage direction. The joke line on Prepare The Chamber was changed to the same wording.

Slayn & Korpil Facilities: looking for a real "that means quality" slogan.

  • No real advertisement or slogan of the form "X owned, and that means quality" was found. The search covered the web, the same Usenet archives (the one "means quality" hit is an unrelated post about Decipher), and West End Games' Strike Force: Shantipole, which introduced the Verpine, Roche and the B-wing project and has no such line.
  • The closest real copy found, neither shown to be the source: the Old Spice jingle line "Old Spice means quality!"[4] and a 1952 department-store ad for Alligator coats, "It's Alligator, of course, and that means quality".[5]
  • The row is unchanged and no image was added: no slogan source was found, and neither ad above is an image from an SWCCG site. Comlink Cursor (talk) 12:48, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
  • Follow-up, Bill's call (27 October 2026): both ad lines now go in the row and in the joke line on Slayn & Korpil Facilities, as real ads in the same form as the lore and not as its proven source. The Old Spice line also cites Neatorama, which dates the jingle ("The Old Spice Sea Shanty") to 1953.[6] The row shows File:Joke reference - Alligator coat ad, Oregon Statesman 1952.jpg, cropped from the newspaper's page scan; Save Page Now returned 520 for the page scan and PDF, so the file page cites the preserved text page of the same newspaper page. No Old Spice image was added: the two 1950s and 1960s Old Spice commercials on the Internet Archive (1957 and 1965) do not use the jingle, and no archived print ad carrying the line was found. Comlink Cursor (talk) 13:16, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
  • Second follow-up, at Bill's request (27 October 2026): an Internet Archive full-text search for "and that means quality" found about 30 advertisements using the form, from Hart Schaffner & Marx (1906) to Trane (1987). Others include Paris Garters (1930s and 1940s), Kiwi polish (1941), Jeep (1974), Owens-Corning shingles (1979), Bates saddlebags (1980) and Goodyear Eagle tires (1981). The row and the card page now quote the three closest in shape and date to the card: Buick Regal (1976, "Regal is a Buick. And that means quality."), Toyota Corolla (1983, "Each Corolla is a Toyota. And that means quality famous the world over.") and Trane (1987, "it's made by Trane. And that means quality."). None of them is claimed as the source of the joke. The Alligator image is now a close-up of the quality line, because the whole ad was too small to read in the row. Save Page Now refused the three Internet Archive item pages (error 523), so those refs link the Internet Archive items directly. No image of the Old Spice jingle was found. Comlink Cursor (talk) 13:35, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
  • Bill's call (27 October 2026): the Wayback Machine excludes archive.org's own pages, so the Buick (1976), Toyota (1983) and Trane (1987) refs link the Internet Archive scans directly, with no Preserved copy. Comlink Cursor (talk) 14:21, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Food and being fat (27 October 2026)

This section was Bill's call (27 October 2026, relayed by Chief): a new Running gag on food and being fat. The block is Food and being fat, and the type table now counts 9 running gags and 164 jokes.

Included. Cloud City: Dining Room (Dark Side card; its Light Side text doubles Blue Milk, Beru Stew and Yoda Stew and makes "Jek" deploy -2) with Jek Porkins (Light Side), shown side by side; the three food cards Blue Milk, Beru Stew and Yoda Stew; Max Rebo; WHAAAAAAAAAOOOOW!; Oh, Switch Off. Each card page has a matching joke= line. The game text and lore are quoted from the wiki card pages and agree with swccg-card-json.

Ortolan: cross-linked, not moved. The page lists a multi-category joke once, under one type, and points to it from the other blocks: Figrin D'an's band sends readers to Tedn Dahai in Union jokes, and I have a bad feeling about this points to Main Course. Alpha1's Ortolan row is a design gag (the game text pays off the lore), so it stays under Design gags, and the new block's opening paragraph links to it. Max Rebo, the Ortolan who signs up for unlimited food, has his own entry in the new block. The opening paragraph also links the food jokes already listed under other types: Frozen Dinner, Main Course, and Chewbacca Of Kashyyyk and Always Thinking With Your Stomach.

Data to check. The Ortolan row says the Dining Room is "a site in Jabba's Palace". The only Decipher card with that name is Cloud City: Dining Room, a Cloud City site; there is no Jabba's Palace Dining Room. That row was left as it is for its author to check.

Build notes. New Decipher.com archive faces, taken from Wayback copies of Decipher's card list GIFs: File:CC-D-cloudcitydiningroom-decipher-archive.gif, File:JP-L-maxrebo-decipher-archive.gif and File:Dagobah-L-whaaaaaaaaaoooow-decipher-archive.gif. Decipher's Yoda Stew GIF has no Wayback copy, so the block uses the existing File:Dagobah-L-yodastew.gif. Hootkins' remark about the name Porkins is cited to SlashFilm (4 December 2023), and the film lines to the IMSDb scripts; each citation has a checked Internet Archive copy. No film stills were added, because the card pictures already show each scene.

Parked candidates (from a search of the lore and game text of Decipher cards, and Virtual cards after them, for food, eating, appetite and weight; not on Jokes). Bill decides whether any of them move.

Card Card text Why it was parked
No Escape Lore: "Neither are his voracious and vile appetites." Jabba's appetite, but "appetites" need not mean food, and the line has no punchline
Orn Free Taa Lore: "Obese Rutian Twi'lek senator." A plain description of his size, with no wordplay
Sarlacc Lore: "Digests victims for 1000 years." About being eaten, not about food or appetite
Dannik Jerriko Lore: "allow him to 'eat the soup' (consume the life Force) of his victims" "Eating" here means killing, not food
Hem Dazon Lore: "Hem has succumbed to the power of salt, an addiction"; game text: "'salt consumption'" Salt is treated as an addiction, closer to a drug than to food
Dexter Jettster (Virtual Set 19) Game text: "Deploys -1 to (and power +1 at) a cantina, diner, or night club." A Virtual card, and its lore ("Besalisk information broker.") says nothing about food

Vader choking people (27 October 2026)

Built the running gag Vader choking people (Bill's request): fourteen cards where Vader chokes or kills his own officers, one original Decipher face at a time in release order (Alter, Demotion, I Find Your Lack Of Faith Disturbing, Vader, Motti, Admiral Ozzel, You Have Failed Me For The Last Time, Apology Accepted, Captain Needa, Field Promotion, Report To Lord Vader, Imperial Command, Lord Vader, Moff Jerjerrod), with film images of the Motti, Ozzel and Needa chokes and of the Jerjerrod choke cut from Return of the Jedi. Demotion and Imperial Command moved into it from Deadpan lore; their anchors still work. The card face that pictures Needa being choked is Apology Accepted, now shown beside Imperial Command. Admiral Ozzel, Lord Vader and Moff Jerjerrod keep their own entries, which link to the gag. Six faces that had no Decipher archive copy were uploaded from Decipher.com card list captures. Counts in Jokes by type recounted: Deadpan lore 30, Running gag 10, total 163. Comlink Cursor (talk) 14:46, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Candidates from the 27 October 2026 second scan

Premiere through Jabba's Palace (Alpha6)

A second pass over the lore and game text of Premiere, A New Hope, Hoth, Dagobah, Cloud City, Jabba's Palace and the promo and two-player cards of that era. Each bullet quotes the card itself. None of them is on Jokes, Easter eggs or Anagrams, or in the earlier candidate lists above.

Comlink Cursor (talk) 16:00, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Special Edition to Theed, and Virtual (Alpha5)

A second pass over the titles, lore and game text of Special Edition, Endor, Death Star II, Reflections II, Tatooine, Coruscant, Reflections III, Theed Palace, the promo and pack cards of that era such as Third Anthology, and the Virtual sets. Each bullet quotes the card itself. None of them is on Jokes, Easter eggs or Anagrams, or in the candidate lists above. Virtual cards that only repeat a Decipher lore from Premiere to Jabba's Palace are left to the list above. Where a reference is not certain, the bullet marks it "Guess:" and says why.

Strong

  • Elan Sleazebaggano (Virtual Set 19): the name has "sleazebag" in it, for the death-stick dealer Obi-Wan meets in a Coruscant nightclub in Attack of the Clones. The game text lets him "'sell death sticks'", and if a Jedi is present he goes to the Used Pile, as in the film, where Obi-Wan's mind trick sends him off with "You want to go home and rethink your life." Type: Wordplay. Picture: File:V19-D-elansleazebaggano.gif.
  • Coarse And Rough And Irritating and I Don't Like Sand (Virtual Set 0): the Dark and Light titles split Anakin's line to Padmé in Attack of the Clones, "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere." The two Effects have the same game text, and the Dark card's lore is a Tatooine storm that whips rocks through the air. Type: Film in-joke. Picture: File:V0-D-coarseandroughandirritating.gif with File:V0-L-idontlikesand.gif.
  • StarSpeeder 3000 and StarSpeeder 1000 (Virtual Set 24): the whole lore of each is "Star Tours." These are the ride vehicles of the Disney attraction Star Tours, the StarSpeeder 3000 in the 1987 ride and the StarSpeeder 1000 in Star Tours: The Adventures Continue (2011). Both cards say "Permanent pilot provides no ability". Guess: a nod to the ride's pilots, the rookie droid Rex on his first flight, and in the later version C-3PO, who ends up at the controls by accident. Type: Pop-culture reference. Picture: File:V24-L-starspeeder3000.gif with File:V24-D-starspeeder1000.gif, and a free-licensed photo of the ride.
  • Prisoner 2187 (Third Anthology, Virtual Set 20) and Cell 2187 (Virtual Set 15): Leia's cell number in Star Wars is widely reported as George Lucas's nod to 21-87 (1963), a short film by Arthur Lipsett that influenced him, and The Force Awakens reused the number for Finn's stormtrooper number, FN-2187. Type: Cast and crew nod. Picture: File:TA-L-prisoner2187.gif with File:V15-L-cell2187.gif.
  • TK-422 (Special Edition, Virtual Set 15): Han in stolen stormtrooper armor gets the number one after TK-421, the trooper in Star Wars who never answers "TK-421, why aren't you at your post?" because Han and Luke have taken the armor of the men sent aboard the Falcon. Type: Film in-joke. Picture: File:SE-L-tk422.gif with a film still of the TK-421 scene.
  • It's Not My Fault! (Special Edition): in The Empire Strikes Back the hyperdrive of the Falcon fails twice, and each pilot gives the same excuse. Han says "The transfer circuits are working. It's not my fault!", and later Lando says "They told me they fixed it. I trusted them to fix it. It's not my fault!" The title is the shared line and the lore is Han's half. Type: Film in-joke. Picture: File:SE-L-itsnotmyfault.gif with a film still of Lando at the controls.
  • Life Day (Virtual Set 23): the title is the Wookiee holiday at the center of the Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), which aired once and was never officially released again. The lore is a plain description of Wookiees, and the game text wants Wookiees and Ewoks. Type: Pop-culture reference. Picture: File:V23-L-lifeday.gif with a still from the Holiday Special.

Borderline

Comlink Cursor (talk) 16:09, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Promoted to Jokes (Bill, 27 October 2026): SSA-1015, Senate Hovercam (both faces in one row), Leia, Rebel Princess and Feltipern Trevagg's Stun Rifle, all as Deadpan lore. Comlink Cursor (talk) 17:02, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Alien speech and sounds (27 October 2026)

Extended the running gag Untranslated alien speech into Alien speech and sounds (Bill's request): twelve cards, one original Decipher face at a time in release order. Added Wookiee Roar with MSE-6 'Mouse' Droid beside it (two stills of the Death Star corridor scene in Star Wars), Bantha Fodder, Hutt Bounty, I Must Be Allowed To Speak, Information Exchange and Ke Chu Ke Kukuta? (with a still of Jabba's gatekeeper droid). Myo moved in from Deadpan lore. The old anchors (Untranslated alien speech, Myo and each card) still work. Cross-links added on Hard-to-read cards, Mournful Roar and E Chu Ta; the type table now counts Myo under Running gag.

None of the sources found gives a translation of the card lore itself; the block quotes only the film subtitles (IMSDb script) and Wookieepedia's "bantha poodoo" and "monoc".

Borderline, not added (for Bill to judge):

New candidates from a scan of all card lore, not on Jokes or in the lists above: Jabba's Through With You (Special Edition): "'Klees ka tlanko ya oska.'"; Losing Track (Tatooine): "'Wha-? Chuba da noya!'"; Ewok Celebration (Reflections III): "'Na na, beecha na noooooooooooooooowa.'" Comlink Cursor (talk) 17:34, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Promoted to Alien speech and sounds (Bill, 27 October 2026): We'll Find Han (with a still of Chewbacca's wail), Jabba's Through With You, Losing Track and Ewok Celebration, each with its original Decipher face and a joke= line on its card page; the block now has sixteen cards. Not picked (Bill): Closer?! and Aiiii! Aaa! Agggggggggg!, which stay off Jokes. Correction to the list above: Chewbacca's wail on We'll Find Han is his answer to Lando's "Princess, we'll find Han. I promise" at the end of The Empire Strikes Back, not the moment Han is frozen. Comlink Cursor (talk) 18:03, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (27 October 2026)

Built the running gag The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Bill's request, through Chief): the three Special Edition characters that play the film's trio, each with its original Decipher face and a film still. Bron Burs (Tuco, the Ugly; new still File:Joke reference - Tuco in the desert in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.jpg, a 4K frame from Arrow Video's official sizzle reel), Debnoli (Blondie, the Good) and Gela Yeens (Angel Eyes, the Bad), with the Blondie and Angel Eyes stills already used on Anagrams. The three faces had no Decipher archive copy and were uploaded from Decipher.com card list captures (SHA-1 of each file matches the Wayback CDX digest). Each card page got a joke= line, the Anagrams See also links to the section, and the type table now counts Running gag 11.

Build notes:

  • The gag is the fan list's ("Anagramed Decipherians" names the film beside all three cards and tags Bron Burs UGLY and Gela Yeens BAD) plus the lore: "Good-natured", "Bad-tempered", "Ugly scars".
  • New in the section, not in the fan list: Gela Yeens' "Makes a few credits more" turns the title of For a Few Dollars More (1965), Leone's previous western, which also starred Lee Van Cleef and Clint Eastwood. Cross-linked to Quick Draw ("a fistful of credits").
  • No Tuco anagram exists. Bron Burs' title scrambles Rob Burns; only the lore and the fan list's tag make him the Ugly.
  • Scan of all card lore and titles (swccg-card-json Light.json and Dark.json, Decipher and Virtual) for Tuco, Blondie, Angel Eyes, Ugly, Good-natured, Bad-tempered, standoff, noose, Sad Hill and similar words: no other card belongs to the gag. The Virtual reprints of the three cards keep the same lore.

Borderline, not added (for Bill to judge):

  • Debnoli's picture: the card that is "Blondie" shows a bald man. Nothing found shows that Decipher meant it as a joke; the picture is a Mos Eisley cantina patron from Star Wars who was given the name later.
  • Bron Burs: "Likes to be on his own" and game text "When alone at a site, draws one battle destiny". It could echo Tuco being left alone in the desert, but nothing ties it to the film.
  • Debnoli: "Seeking revenge on the Empire". In the film it is Tuco, not Blondie, who is "bent on revenge" (against Blondie), so it does not fit the casting.
  • Gela Yeens: "Highly regarded for his uncanny anticipation in battle". No link to Angel Eyes found.
  • Phylo Gandish ("Good-natured former pilot") and Savareen Standoff (a standoff in Solo) turned up in the scan; neither has any tie to the film.
