Oh, Switch Off is a Dark Interrupt (Used Interrupt) from Hoth.
Card Text
Cancel any attempt to steal, destroy or capture one of your droids. Droid is protected for remainder of this turn. OR Switch OFF any binary droid for remainder of this turn.
Lore
Mindless philosophy for an overweight glob of grease.
Joke
The title is Threepio's line to Artoo on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back, and the lore reuses their exchange from Star Wars, "Don't call me a mindless philosopher, you overweight glob of grease!", so it ends on Threepio calling the round astromech fat.[1][2] See Jokes.
Combos
- Self-Destruct Mechanism - Retarget a weapon to your droid, then cancel the targeting entirely.[3]
Rulings
- May even cancel the firing of a weapon that was retargeted to the droid by Self-Destruct Mechanism.[3]
- If canceling an attempt to fire a weapon at a droid, play during the response step (before weapon destiny is drawn).
- The phrase 'Droid is protected' means that further attempts are not allowed (they are prevented, not canceled).
Cancels
- An attempt by opponent to target your droid to be stolen, 'hit' or lost
