Demotion is a Light Effect from Premiere Limited.
Card Text
Use 2 Force to deploy on any Imperial, except Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine or Stormtrooper. That Imperial is power -2 and cannot use its "game text."
Lore
Repercussions for failure are severe in the Imperial military. Many officers prefer demotion to ‘alternative’ punishment from Darth Vader.
Joke
The "'alternative' punishment" is Darth Vader's Force choke, which kills Admiral Ozzel and Captain Needa in The Empire Strikes Back.[1] You Have Failed Me For The Last Time, Apology Accepted and Report To Lord Vader are cards for that alternative. It is part of the running gag of cards where Vader chokes his own officers. See Jokes.
