Lift Tube Escape is a Light Interrupt (Used Interrupt) from Cloud City.
Card Text
If opponent just initiated a battle, one of your Lift Tubes present may move as a 'react' from that battle. OR Place one of your unoccupied Lift Tubes on table in your Used Pile. OR Search your Reserve Deck, take one Lift Tube into hand and reshuffle.
Lore
First floor: parasols and powdered blue milk. Second floor: bantha skin rugs, bog-wing drapes and juri juice tables. Third floor: a squadron of Imperial stormtroopers.
Joke
The lore is a department-store lift announcement, like the theme tune of the BBC sitcom Are You Being Served?, in which a lift girl calls out each floor and its goods ("Second floor: carpets, travel goods and bedding…"). Here the goods are Star Wars ones, such as powdered blue milk and Bantha skin rugs, and the third floor holds stormtroopers.[1][2] Department stores printed the same kind of floor-by-floor directory, such as Holden & Stone's "Store Directory" of 1907 ("First floor, front: Umbrellas, Ladies' Neckwear, Leather Goods").[3] See Jokes.
Reviews
- Jeff Hansen, "Lift Tube Escape", Neglected Card Series, Corellian Engineering Corporation (2000). Hansen calls it powerful in Lift Tube decks: a react away from a battle, recycling an empty Lift Tube, and fetching a Lift Tube from Reserve Deck, with a destiny of 5. "Lift Tube Escape has got you covered for all your Lift Tube needs!"[4]
Combos
- Lift Tube Escape + Lift Tube + Dune Sea Sabacc Lift Tube and Lift Tube Escape can be tracked pretty easily for perfect Sabacc. (Indiana Jones Jedi Knight)[5]
