Premiere - Virtual Block 9.1
Premiere - Virtual Block 9.1 is the constructed card pool of every Decipher card plus the Players Committee virtual cards through Virtual Block 9.1: Republic At War. The Players Committee released 9.1 on 10 January 2014: "The new cards are legal immediately for casual and competitive play."[1][2] It was the last dated pool of the Virtual Legacy era. On 25 July 2014 the Players Committee announced the "Reset of Standard Format", and on 25 September 2014 the first post-reset cards became "legal immediately for play in Standard Format".[3][4] The pre-reset cards became the fixed Legacy format, which this wiki calls Legacy Open.[3] Until the reset, the Players Committee's name for this constructed format was Standard.
- Type: constructed
- Defined by: Players Committee
- Card pool: every Decipher card plus Virtual Blocks 1–8 and Virtual Block 9.1
- In use: 10 January 2014 – 24 September 2014 (the last pool before the 2014 reset)
- GEMP: none (GEMP's Legacy environment is the later fixed pool, Legacy Open)
Card pool
The pool is every Decipher card plus every Players Committee virtual release up to and including 9.1 Republic At War:
- Every card printed by Decipher.
- The earlier numbered Virtual Sets 1–17, including Defensive Shields, as realigned in 2009 into Virtual Blocks 1–5.[5][6]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.1 Reflections IV (110 cards).[7][8] Seventeen of the Legacy Virtual Shields were printed in this release.[9]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.2 Domain Of Evil (26 cards).[10][11]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.3 Mercenaries (34 cards).[12][13]
- Virtual Block 7 release 7.1 Ultimate Power (48 cards).[14][15]
- Virtual Block 7 release 7.2 Ultimate Freedom (28 cards).[16][17] Three more Legacy Virtual Shields were printed in this release.[9]
- Virtual Block 7 release 7.3 Ultimate Conflict (43 cards).[18][19]
- Virtual Block 7 release 7.4 Ultimate Legacy (22 cards).[20][21]
- Virtual Block 8 release 8.1 Scoundrels (49 cards).[22][23]
- Virtual Block 8 release 8.2 Agents For Hire (28 cards).[24][25]
- Virtual Block 8 release 8.3 A Wretched Hive (29 cards).[26][27]
- Virtual Block 9 release 9.1 Republic At War (77 card slips).[28][2]
History
Republic At War is "the first set in our V9 'Clone Wars' theme".[1] It has 77 card slips (34 Dark Side, 43 Light Side); each of its two objectives takes two slips.[28] Some of its cards were already in the pool as the 2013 V9.1 Preview Set (see Premiere - Virtual Block 8.3).
Virtual Block 9.2. A PDF of Virtual Block 9.2: Twilight Of The Republic (11 cards) has official text as of 14 July 2014.[29][30] On 25 July 2014 the Players Committee wrote: "9.2 will not be released in its current form. We are planning on releasing a mini, 12 card set for Worlds."[3] No release post for 9.2 was found: in the Players Committee's news the post before the reset announcement is "V-set 9.1 is live!".[3] The Players Committee's virtual-slips page as captured on 24 August 2014, during the 2014 World Championship, lists no 9.2 PDF.[31] Whether 9.2, or a mini set for Worlds, was ever tournament legal is unknown, so this wiki treats 9.1 as the last dated pool.
The reset. The 25 July 2014 announcement said: "The new Standard tournament format will consist of all post-reset V Cards ... we also will create a new Legacy format for tournament events ... which will consist of all pre-Reset v cards. It will be a fixed-cardpool format that tournament directors can run at their discretion." It also planned a beta test of the reset format at a side event at Worlds in Toronto and at the European Championship in September 2014.[3] On 25 September 2014 the Players Committee posted the Virtual Set 0 and Virtual Set 1 Preview PDFs and added: "A Legacy (pre-Reset) pdf may be wrapped up soon for any who wish to use those cards from time to time still (but not in Standard format events)."[4] From then on the post-2014 Standard format is Open, and the pre-reset pool is the fixed Legacy Open. See 2014 Virtual Card Pool Reset.
