This is the dated constructed pool of March 2013 – January 2014. For the fixed pre-reset pool played since 2014, see Legacy Open. For all pools of this era, see Virtual Legacy.

Premiere - Virtual Block 8.3 is the constructed card pool of every Decipher card plus the Players Committee virtual cards through Virtual Block 8.3: A Wretched Hive. The 8.3 PDF has official text as of 28 March 2013.[1] No release post or tournament-legal date was found: the Players Committee's news list goes from "New Persona Changes" (29 January 2013) to "V-Card Alternate Image Cards Announcement" (16 April 2013) with no 8.3 post between them.[2] Decklists of the 2013 Texas Mini Worlds (19–21 April 2013) already use 8.3 cards such as Luuke and Guardian's Lightsaber.[3] The pool lasted until 9 January 2014; Virtual Block 9.1 was legal immediately on its release on 10 January 2014.[4] The Players Committee's name for its constructed format until 2014 was Standard: the 25 July 2014 announcement that replaced this pool was titled "Reset of Standard Format" and said that "The new Standard tournament format will consist of all post-reset V Cards".[5] "Legacy" was created only then, for the pre-reset cards.

  • Type: constructed
  • Defined by: Players Committee
  • Card pool: every Decipher card plus Virtual Blocks 1–7 and Virtual Block 8.1–8.3 (and, from mid-2013, the V9.1 Preview Set)
  • In use: March 2013 (official text 28 March; legal date unknown, in use by 19 April) – 9 January 2014
  • GEMP: none (GEMP's Legacy environment is the later fixed pool, Legacy Open)

Card pool

The pool is every Decipher card plus every Players Committee virtual release up to and including 8.3 A Wretched Hive:

History

A Wretched Hive closed Block 8 with 29 cards (14 Dark Side, 15 Light Side), including the four cards of the December 2012 8.3 Preview Set, which were already in the pool (see Premiere - Virtual Block 8.2).[27][28]

V9.1 Preview Set. The Players Committee's news list has a "V9.1 Preview Set" post dated 9 July 2013; the post itself was not preserved, so its legal date is unknown.[2] Decklists of the 2013 Alderaan Regionals (13–14 July 2013) show no 9.1 cards, while decklists of the 2013 World Championship (9–11 August 2013) include preview cards such as Much to Learn, You Still Have, later part of 9.1 Republic At War.[29][30][31] This wiki does not treat the preview as a separate pool: from mid-2013 this pool is 8.3 plus the V9.1 preview cards.
