Premiere - Virtual Block 7.2
Premiere - Virtual Block 7.2 is the constructed card pool of every Decipher card plus the Players Committee virtual cards through Virtual Block 7.2: Ultimate Freedom. The Players Committee released 7.2 on 13 December 2010 and said: "These cards are legal for tournament play starting December 29th."[1] The PDF has official text as of 15 December 2010.[2] The pool lasted until Virtual Block 7.3, released on 3 June 2011, became legal; that date is unknown.[3] The Players Committee's name for its constructed format until 2014 was Standard: the 25 July 2014 announcement that replaced this pool was titled "Reset of Standard Format" and said that "The new Standard tournament format will consist of all post-reset V Cards".[4] "Legacy" was created only then, for the pre-reset cards.
- Type: constructed
- Defined by: Players Committee
- Card pool: every Decipher card plus Virtual Blocks 1–6 and Virtual Block 7.1–7.2
- In use: 29 December 2010 – June 2011 (until 7.3 became legal; date unknown)
- GEMP: none (GEMP's Legacy environment is the later fixed pool, Legacy Open)
Card pool
The pool is every Decipher card plus every Players Committee virtual release up to and including 7.2 Ultimate Freedom:
- Every card printed by Decipher.
- The earlier numbered Virtual Sets 1–17, including Defensive Shields, as realigned in 2009 into Virtual Blocks 1–5.[5][6]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.1 Reflections IV (110 cards).[7][8] Seventeen of the Legacy Virtual Shields were printed in this release.[9]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.2 Domain Of Evil (26 cards).[10][11]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.3 Mercenaries (34 cards).[12][13]
- Virtual Block 7 release 7.1 Ultimate Power (48 cards).[14][15]
- Virtual Block 7 release 7.2 Ultimate Freedom (28 cards).[16][2] Three more Legacy Virtual Shields were printed in this release.[9]
Changes made while this pool was in force:
- 26 April 2011: the Competitive Balance Team blanked Medium Transport (V), effective immediately. The post says the change was released at once "and not with the next virtual set (as was announced)".[17]
History
On 25 October 2010 the Players Committee scheduled 7.2 for 15 December 2010 as a set of about 25–30 cards, "about 75% of which are player-created".[18] Compared with Premiere - Virtual Block 7.1, the pool adds the 28 Ultimate Freedom cards (13 Dark Side, 15 Light Side).[16]
