Premiere - Virtual Block 6.3
Premiere - Virtual Block 6.3 is the constructed card pool of every Decipher card plus the Players Committee virtual cards through Virtual Block 6.3: Mercenaries. On 18 February 2010 the Players Committee set "a March 15th 2010 release date (tournament legal 14 days later)"; it posted the release on 12 March, and the PDF has official text as of 15 March 2010.[1][2][3] The planned legal date is therefore 29 March 2010; no announcement confirming it was found. The pool lasted until 1 July 2010; Virtual Block 7.1 became legal on 2 July.[4] Event listings of the time call the format "Standard Contstructed" [sic].[2]
- Type: constructed
- Defined by: Players Committee
- Card pool: every Decipher card plus Virtual Blocks 1–5 and Virtual Block 6.1–6.3
- In use: about 29 March 2010 (exact legal date not confirmed) – 1 July 2010
- GEMP: none (GEMP's Legacy environment is the later fixed pool, Legacy Open)
Card pool
The pool is every Decipher card plus every Players Committee virtual release up to and including 6.3 Mercenaries:
- Every card printed by Decipher.
- The earlier numbered Virtual Sets 1–17, including Defensive Shields, as realigned in 2009 into Virtual Blocks 1–5.[5][6]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.1 Reflections IV (110 cards).[7][8] Seventeen of the Legacy Virtual Shields were printed in this release.[9]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.2 Domain Of Evil (26 cards).[10][11]
- Virtual Block 6 release 6.3 Mercenaries (34 cards).[12][3]
Changes made while this pool was in force:
- 17 June 2010: errata to Death Star Gunner (V) and Rebel Tech (V), effective immediately: instead of canceling the game text of sites, they cancel the opponent's Force drain bonuses from those sites.[13]
History
The 18 February 2010 post explained that the planned February set had been pushed back and renamed Virtual Set 6.3: Mercenaries.[1] Compared with Premiere - Virtual Block 6.2, the pool adds the 34 Mercenaries cards (21 Dark Side, 13 Light Side).[12] Decklists of the 2010 Match Play Championship (17–18 April 2010) already include Mercenaries cards such as Cyclone Walker and Cad Bane.[14]
The Mercenaries PDF also describes an optional side format: "Block tournaments are a new and exciting kind of event ... You can select a limited number of virtual blocks to go along with any similar selection of Decipher expansions."[3] Block tournaments were an alternative to this pool, not a replacement for it.
