Introduction

This is sort of a compilation of similar decks I have seen over time. It's fun to play and I have never lost with it. I've never played in a tournament, but I'm thinking of entering this deck in a local one.

I built this deck because the guys I play with use mainly space decks, with either corvettes or high-forfeit pilots such as Luke or Wedge on their X-wings.

First you want to start with the Death Star. Even though it lets the light side go first, it gives you good force generation and ensures that as soon as you get your Death Star Tractor Beam out, you can start chasing after ships. Use Prepared Defenses to set up IAO, Mobilization Points, and Besieged. On your first two turns, pull your docking bays using IAO, and pull Cardia. This helps force generation, plus it increases your average destiny without all those sites in your reserve deck.

Use Piett to pull Commander Praji, who in turn lets you pull Capt. Lennox, Admiral Chiraneau, Officer Evax, Major Mianda, Lieutenant Cabbel, Lieutenant Hebsly, and Warrant Officer M’Kae (thanks to Praji’s V2 game text). Then M’Kae can get you your tractor beams and Our First Catch Of The Day.

If you get Brandei out, he will pull TIEs for you. Corporal Vandolay pulls Detention Block Corridor and makes We Have A Prisoner a used interrupt.

By now you should be ready to start using tractor beams to capture your opponent’s starships. Transport your captives to Detention Block Corridor where you can begin draining with IT-O (or retrieving force with Corporal Prescott’s game text). The binders are in there so your Imperials can transport whatever captives were on the captured ship, plus they have a nice destiny of 6.

As for the effects and interrupts: I put in Sense x2 to allay my irrational fear of Fallen Portal, as well as to protect Come With Me from Alter. In Range and Our First Catch Of The Day boost the effectiveness of Tractor Beams. Imperial Command gets me my Admirals and then is recycled, for a solid 4 destiny and the ability to search for another Admiral if needed. (V) Come With Me need not even be explained: this card rocks. Evacuate is handy because of its destiny 6, plus it can save you from losing all your cards from a star destroyer.

Note: I don’t have a Superlaser; otherwise I’d have it in here. I’m also looking for a Devastator to replace the Death Squadron Star Destroyer (it lets Praji pull 2 pilots per turn instead of just one).

Any ideas or suggestions you might have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sorry about that error, in an earlier draft of the deck I had Oppressive Enforcement instead of Mob Pts., but I guess I forgot to change the list before I posted. Thanks for pointing that out!

+ I agree with most of the changes you guys suggested, and I probably would have made some of them, but I lack a lot of those cards. In fact, I almost decided not to post this deck because there were a lot of things I wanted to do with it, but I just didn't have the cards. So I figured I'd see what everybody thought I should do. Your advice assured me that I was on the right track. Thanks!
