Card Text
Use 2 Force to deploy on a Star Destroyer. At the end of a battle, may target a starship present (except Mon Calamari Star Cruiser) using 2 Force. Draw destiny. Starship captured if destiny > armor or maneuver.
Lore
Captures enemy vessels for boarding. When used in conjunction with an ion cannon, tractor beams can ensnare even the most maneuverable starships.
Reviews
- Jeff Hansen, "Tractor Beam", Neglected Card Series, Corellian Engineering Corporation (2000). Hansen explains that the device deploys on any Star Destroyer and, after a battle, can capture an opponent's starship (except a Mon Cal cruiser) when a destiny draw beats the target's defense value; a captured starship with no characters aboard becomes yours to use, which turns a Hidden Base swarm against itself. "Piracy at its finest!" He prefers it to the Death Star Tractor Beam for mobility and versatility.[1]
