The 2006 World Championship was the 11th Star Wars CCG World Championship, run by the Players Committee on 19–22 October 2006 at PasTimes, a game store in Niles, Illinois, near Chicago.[1][2] It had been planned for August 2006; in June the Players Committee reported that PasTimes was working with it on a new date because the August date conflicted with other events.[3] Wikipedia gives a field of 34.[4] Nate Meeker topped the twelve-player Day 3 standings on differential and then beat Brian Hunter in a two-game final, losing game 1 by 1 and winning game 2 by 3.[1][2] Meeker posted his Day 3 Dark deck, "Scum Solid", on DeckTech, but that list was not archived and is not on the wiki.[5]
The constructed pool was printed Decipher cards through Theed Palace plus the original Players Committee Virtual Sets then legal: Premiere - Original VS6, since Virtual Sets 7–11 became legal only on 4 December 2006 (see Virtual Sets (2002-2009)).
Results
Places 1–2 are from the final; places 3–12 follow the Day 3 standings posted by the Players Committee on 23 October 2006.[1] A 2020 forum post quoting an earlier player compilation gives the same standings.[6] Chris Shaner is also described as "third place overall" in a players' thread.[7] Decks are the lists recovered in 2026 from DeckTech posts (Internet Archive copies) and Players Committee decklist forms; each deck page cites its own source.
