Introduction
This deck aims to out battle the opponent on their own turf, through the influence of a dead Jedi and some well-armed warriors. If you're lucky, you can even cross Vader!
Decklist
Strategy
When I first heard of the Obi Wan PooP trick, I decided that my first TIGIH deck needed to incorporate it. I was heavily influenced by Greg Shaw's worlds '02 deck, but decided to have a little themed fun by adding some guns.
To start with, this is not a drain deck. I'm not trying to do significant damage through drains in any way, shape or form.
Secondly, your goal is to get Luke captured. One big weak point is that preflip your generation can get squashed easily. Fortunately, if an Imperial is down at the Landing Platform, you can flip your next turn. To help generation, the holotable and JCC are included. YISYW & SA should help as well if you are hanging out at the DB, plus you can pull Honor or Inc Losses if you need it.
Just what is the Obi Wan PooP trick? Well, you use Balanced Attack to draw Obi into hand. Lose him to any form of Force loss ASAP. Once he is lost, and you have more cards lost than opponent, you can use Merc Sunlet to PooP Obi. Beforehand, you will have used Don't Do That Again (shield) to get I Can't Believe He's Gone into play. The end result is that you can pay 1 Force to add 5 to your total power in site battles. And remember, you win battles (and stack cards) when your power is greater than opponent's!
Since this is a battle heavy deck, you have lots of cards to help you. The Fish and DTF set up battles in your favor. The character base is selected so that they can draw destiny on their own. In essence, each of them is at least power 6 with He's Gone. Bacta will recycle them.
Yoda is their to add to generation and get a Control or Sense when you need it. Since you have a high ability character from the get go, a little SAC is included. Threepio is for setting up destiny and/or getting cards you need. Panaka can't draw on his own, but with my blaster sideboard, I couldn't resist him.
Saitorr pulls blasters for Bron, Amidala, Leia, Lando and Panaka. Lots of them have power related effects (Lando, Amidala, and Panaka), while Leia lets you remove characters. Couple this with Weapons Malf and Blaster Prof, and you can easily swing the power difference towards you for battles, and even set up a nice beatdown. Plus, with Superf Damage, you can recycle your weapons as you save your characters with the Tank.
Your characters should enable you to invade an opponent's site, win a battle and clear out some characters. Since you can draw destiny with just about every character, you only have to commit one per site, and hopefully save them and their guns.
Space is minimal, with HCF and Life Debt. The 4 destiny that you will get with that combo should let you win most, if not all space battles. (He's Gone doesn't work). Against an all space deck, you will want to use weapons for forfeit fodder and use Luke offensively in hopes of getting him captured.
Thanks for looking and hopefully reviewing!
EDIT
Thanks for the review, Rev!
Yes, I realize that if this was to be a serious TIGIH attempt the guns all would go (along with the related helpers). That being said, I did not want to carbon copy Shaw's deck, which run 3x EPP Qui. Obi is not a character to use in this deck! Re-read the strategy section and see that running 2-3 of him is dead card space. I know you love Clash and AJR, but Qui is the only character who has a saber so it makes little sense. As for draining, this is not a deck where I set up to drain on my sites, any draining I will do will be on my opponent's turf, after battling. I really don't need the excessive generation, I do 10 by myself once I am all set up.
Thanks for the review, Spooky! I considered using Padme instead of the Queen, but in the end I wanted someone who could draw destiny on their own.
PEGD, thanks for the review! Yeah, space is decidely weak. I think that I may swap a HCF for Spiral, especially to get around ZimH.
