Doug Taylor

Doug Taylor was a Players Committee advocate from 2002, serving later as Design Advocate and Historical Advocate.[1][2][3] Warren Holland named him and Eric Olson the first Player Advocates for Gameplay Support on 25 January 2002.[1] Before that he was a Decipher-era Squadron Member, listed as Red 4 FL from Lynnwood, Wa. The published fan table marks the slot Retired after Decipher's SWCCG run. Winfried Sommerfeld (Red 41) named him among the friends he made through Star Wars CCG.[4]
On his third tour as a Squadron Member, he built a Seattle-area list of nearly 300 players. One of his Regional qualifiers drew 91 players, then a world record.[5]
In their own words
Having now embarked on my third tour of duty, I can look back on my time as a Squadron Member as a rewarding experience. Through this position I have helped others, made new friends, and encouraged the growth of this fantastic game. I have worked hard to establish a large player base in the Seattle area, and my list of players is currently nearly 300 people long! Many have returned from great distances for my events, and at last year's Regional Qualifier we set a (then) world record by having 91 players!
My pride and joy in life is my beautiful wife Lisa and our four wonderful children, the oldest of whom, Andrew, is a Star Wars CCG phenom at the age of 6! Having played for over a year now, he not only knows nearly all of the cards and rules, but has beaten adults in tournament play!
My work, graveyard shift as a Custody Officer in the County Jail, makes it nearly impossible for me to play in tournaments. I still play Star Wars CCG though, with my son and friends. In addition to gaming (CCGs and RPGs), I enjoy reading, baseball, basketball, and am a huge X-Files fan.[5]

Jedi Knights TCG
Taylor playtested the Jedi Knights Trading Card Game (2001).[17] As a Decipher Product Champion volunteer he reported on a Seattle pre-release event with about 40 players in April 2001.[18]
Radio Free Decipher (2002)
On Radio Free Decipher Broadcast 112 (25 January 2002), host Kyle Heuer described Taylor as a Seattle-based, long-time Decipher playtester. He would do design for the Players Committee with Eric Olson. Heuer said Taylor wanted storyline and an element of fun incorporated into cards, balancing Olson's numbers-driven approach.[19]
