Decipher Cards Only (Modified)

Decipher Cards Only (Modified) is a constructed format: every Decipher-printed card, with five cards banned. It is GEMP's Decipher Cards Only pool (Premiere - Theed Palace) with a ban list, and the Retro League used it in 2025.[1][2][3]

  • Type: constructed
  • Defined by: Players Committee GEMP
  • Card pool: every Decipher card, with a ban list
  • In use: 2025
  • Also called: Decipher Cards Only (modified)[3]
  • GEMP: Decipher Cards Only (Modified) (open_no_virtual_m) on both the Players Committee GEMP and play.swccg.com

Card pool

Its pool is every Decipher-printed card, set ids 1–14 and premium ids 101–112, like GEMP's Decipher Cards Only (open_no_virtual). Unlike Classic (no v-cards), it has no icon bans.[2] The GEMP format definition sets no deck size, so GEMP uses its default of 60 cards.[1][4]

Ban list

GEMP bans five cards:[2][5]

  • Dark Side: An Entire Legion Of My Best Troops, Boonta Eve Podrace, Coruscant: Galactic Senate
  • Light Side: Boonta Eve Podrace, Coruscant: Galactic Senate

History

For the 2025 season, Classic (no v-cards) and Decipher Cards Only (Modified) replaced Premiere - Endor and Premiere - Reflections II in the Retro League.[6] It was the format of 2025 Retro League Event 5, 28 September – 9 November 2025, which Joe Horbey won.[3] It is not in the 2026 Retro League, whose four events end with Classic (no v-cards) (Modified).[7]
