The DecipherCon 1999 website was the part of Decipher's site that covered DecipherCon 1999 (11–14 November 1999, Cavalier Hotel, Virginia Beach, Virginia). It sat under /calendars/event/mainevents/deciphercon/ on decipher.com. Before the convention it took registrations and posted the schedule; during and after it, it carried results, reports, photos and audio.[1] Its home page was still online in December 2002.[2] DecipherCon website covers all three DecipherCon sites; the photos and other images are on DecipherCon 1999 photographs.

Home page

The home page opened "Welcome to DecipherCon 1999!" and said "DecipherCon is over. We've kept the best of our coverage for all of you!" A box headed "Notes from Lalumiere..." linked the four daily wrap-ups. A second column linked "they picked the winners", decks, audio feeds, event reports, photos, the event schedule and results, special guests, and the three World Championship pages.[1]

Before the convention

  • Register online: pre-registration until 31 October 1999, with or without a Cavalier Hotel room.[3]
  • Prize details: the prizes Decipher planned to give out, and panels and clinics with Product Development.[4]
  • Special guests: Chase Masterson ("Leeta"), Aron Eisenberg ("Nog") and Jeremy Bulloch ("Boba Fett").[5]
  • Event schedule: a draft schedule by day, with a page for each day.[6][7][8][9]
  • Wild Card events: details and pre-registration forms for Thursday's Wild Card tournaments, whose top two players in each game went on to the World Championship.[10] A separate page later said pre-registration had ended.[11] A "Who's Playing" page was meant to list registered players.[12]
  • Event survey: questions for people planning to attend.[13]

Events and results

The events page listed the core gaming by day.[14] Each day had its own schedule page with event times and ID numbers:[15][16][17][18]

  • Format pages described Iron Man,[19] No Such Thing As Luck[20] and The Gauntlet: Dual Formats.[21]

Reports

Audio feeds

Radio Free DecipherCon, with Ryan Morris and Mark Tuttle, posted RealAudio clips.[67] Each day had a page:[68][69][70][71] the Wayback Machine holds only the .ram pointer files, not the audio. See DecipherCon 1999#Radio Free DecipherCon.

Photos

The photos page[72] led to an index of thumbnails for each day: Thursday,[73] Friday,[74] Saturday[75] and Sunday.[76] Each thumbnail opened a page with a 400×300 photo and a caption. The 174 photos, the other images from the site, and what survives of each are on DecipherCon 1999 photographs.

Special guests

The guest schedule page gave signing times for the guests, named Decipher staff who would attend, and showed the Austin Powers Corvette.[77] Shannon Baksa had her own page as Mara Jade.[78]
