Jeremy Bulloch
Jeremy Bulloch (16 February 1945 – 17 December 2020) was an English actor. He played Boba Fett, inside the costume and armor, in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983).[1][2][3] In The Empire Strikes Back he also played the Imperial officer who appears in SWCCG as Lieutenant Sheckil.[1][4] He was a special guest at DecipherCon 1999, billed as Boba Fett from the Star Wars films. He signed photographs with Shannon Baksa (Mara Jade).[5][6] Star Wars Insider quoted him there: "It's a real pleasure to be here."[7]
Star Wars roles
Bulloch's half-brother Robert Watts, associate producer of The Empire Strikes Back, offered him the Boba Fett part on the condition that the costume fit him.[1] Bulloch said he played the bounty hunter as "Clint Eastwood in a suit of armor".[1] He gave the physical performance; in the original releases Boba Fett's voice was Jason Wingreen's.[3]
Bulloch also appeared without a helmet in the Cloud City scenes of The Empire Strikes Back. He played the Imperial officer who escorts the captive Princess Leia toward Darth Vader's ship. He took the part on the day of shooting because the actor cast as the officer was unavailable.[1][8] The film does not name the officer. Decipher named him Lieutenant Sheckil in Cloud City Limited (November 1997), and Star Wars: Force Collection later used the name in canon.[4][8]
In Revenge of the Sith (2005) Bulloch played Captain Colton, the captain of the Tantive III.[1] He died on 17 December 2020, aged 75.[2]
Likeness on SWCCG cards
These Cloud City cards show Bulloch's face as Lieutenant Sheckil:

- Lieutenant Sheckil — Cloud City rare
- Human Shield — Cloud City common; Sheckil holds Princess Leia in front of him
- Site card "Shannon Baksa (Mara Jade) and Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett)" in Star Wars Insider #48, All Decked Out (April 2000)[7]

Lore wordplay
The lore of Lieutenant Sheckil reads:
Former warrant officer from Concord Dawn. Promoted due to superb performance. Specializes in transporting high-profile criminals. Twin brother of a famous mercenary.[9]
The same actor played Sheckil and the bounty hunter Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back.[1] When the card was released, Concord Dawn was also Boba Fett's home, from the 1996 story "The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett". Attack of the Clones (2002) later made Fett a clone born on Kamino.[8] In the film, Boba Fett has Han Solo loaded aboard his ship, Slave I, with the line "Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold."[3] Wookieepedia's Sheckil article calls the Concord Dawn and twin-brother details tongue-in-cheek references to Bulloch playing Boba Fett.[8]
Human Shield is tied to Sheckil in play and in its art. Sheckil's game text reads "During your control phase, may use 1 Force to search your Reserve Deck, take one Human Shield into hand and reshuffle. When escorting a captive, captive is forfeit +2 and Sheckil is immune to attrition < 4."[9] Human Shield's image is the Cloud City shot of Sheckil holding Leia in front of him, and its lore reads "A shining example of Imperial honor and bravery."[10]
Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo joked about the character's relatives in a 2004 Revenge of the Sith set diary. Noting that Bulloch had played Sheckil and would play the Tantive pilot, he wrote: "Makes you wonder if Sheckil has an Alderaanian relative."[8]
