- Description: part of the team used creatures and other tech, look for that version soon and rate it fair. this one is closer to reids origins version. this is close if not THE list reid and i used dat 3. booker/nate had different stuff, look for those lists soon
Strategy
well i wasnt gonna post but i guess mike carr is anyway, so, free tech points, why not
note that the main ideas for this come from reid smith/nate meeker/justin stratton, and the inital concept from the pistone/schele crv scum decks.
so anyway, way back at the yavin regional nate/justin had a sweet mkos deck that we used with jquille rep and stuff. to thi day i still like it, but the cr v platform is just a bit more solid in the current meta. anyway, with that deck we saw the power of scum, and really never looked back from that point.
pistone and schele posted cr v versions, nate used one to win oh states and i've played the deck ever since.
day 2/3 changes
day 2: 2nd scum, fett v, crossfire v, p59, maybe a ghhhk? or another card
day 3: 2nd tatooine, rodian, 4lom, search and destroy, you cannot hide forever
the changes were made for the hb matchup. also rodian is good with x2 droid bounty hunter for leia rebel princess. YCHF is cool, it pulls sec prec v, combat response, or search/destroy. yes crossfire adds a destiny, so both are good. scum was cut to 1 cause with sp v or guts its not that great some matchups. 2nd tat cause a day 3 bounce would be killer, while on day 2 you can lose a game to it and be ok.
the start is tatooine and crv for 2 sites and some effects, you guys have all seen it before.
the standard setup is to turn 1 get guys to the ac, turn 2 setup the cruiser in space, turn 3 setup guys and occupation at the power passages. but it doesnt usually happen exactly how you plan it.
matchups: well they are all different. the key is to just judge how you can do the most damage, by turtling or battling and do that. if insurrection or sac isnt played the elis beats can still end the game in 1 fight.
card choices:
yeens v- good in space. but also lets you do an even bigger beatdown with jabba
prophetess- good d/forfiet ratio if spv isnt out. pullable ability 4 dude. can mess up opponents tracking
6 evasion- i'd play 7 if i had room, its soooo gooood
security precautions v- this was from nate first i think. he had it for wys v. but that deck went away, however it was kept and played on OUR sites in the trm matchup, which is huge to get thru goo/the camp. it made us be able to cut no bargain and molator v. also its the best used 5 ever since it cant be grabbed (play it to a site your opponent controls and it goes to used!)
space- we tried a lot of space fleets. power of the hutt was in and out, woof we tried, for a while i dropped the cruiser even. it was down to 3 ships at 1 point. we had bossk with gun and i tried hounds tooth v, it wasnt bad. other ideas included x2 mist hunter and x2 mauls, or the virago/stinger, etc. but in the end we went with the solid standard scum space package.
boelo- this dude gets cut a lot but his text is good. pullable with power of the hutt. cancels a destiny w/a leader (in space too).
controls- good even if the cancellers are played. if they cancel it its 1 less barrier they can stop. plus you can loop it with scum if they dont grab it. just such a versatile card that can be used offensively or defensively
well thats it. scum has been the dominant dark deck of 2005. this is just 1 take on it.
peace
