Card Text
Use 1 Force to prevent any character or starship just deployed by the opponent from battling or moving for the remainder of this turn.
Lore
As is often the case with a hasty plan, a quick heroic escape from the Death Star was temporarily thwarted by the magnetically sealed door in the trash compactor.
Strategy

First of all, it's a destiny 4 used interrupt, making it pretty easy to recycle as your opponent will likely deploy characters or starships. This is also an annoying tactic. You could do it whether you truly need to stop him or not.
The core advantages of this card is the pure surprise factor. Deploy a few characters to the Defensive Perimeter while keeping a Blizzard Walker and pilot in hand. When your opponent finally comes to get you, freeze him in his tracks with a Barrier. Then on your turn, deploy that walker and make him take some damage.
The only problem with this card is that it's not immune to Sense, and Skywalkers can cancel the Barrier as well. Try to have a Control or two when you rely on Imperial Barrier for protection.
Combos:
Imperial Barrier + I'd Just As Soon Kiss A Wookiee (my favorite).
This is nasty in many ways. Delay an opponent, or use it to crush a lone character or starfighter that didn't plan on battling. As for your opponent's would-be Undercover spies, with Imperial Barrier, they can't run or hide. Simply use the I'd Just As Soon Kiss A Wookiee on the Undercover, and the Imperial Barrier on the spy.
Imperial Barrier vs. opponent's deploying as a react. "That card won't help you during this battle."
