Talk:Virtual Sets (2002-2009)
Style pass (2026-10-15)
Missing data
- No card-by-card comparison yet of old Virtual modifiers vs Block-era / current Virtual printings (cut: "This wiki does not yet publish a card-by-card comparison ... A later wiki slice is planned for that work. Until then, treat original PDFs, Block packaging, and current Virtual as versioned layers").
- Spot-check cut from article: early Virtual Luke (V) modifier framing on the 2002-era slips is not the same presentation as Luke-line cards in Virtual Block 1 packaging (illustrative, not a full diff).
- No sourced drop-list of Virtual cards dropped from the legal pool across eras.
- Still open: first-release dates for V5–V6 and V7–V11; Premium Shields legal day.
- Exact date of the starwarsccg.org takeover is still unknown (see History of the Players Committee).
Possibly faulty data
- Block reorganization date: "Soft Aug/Sep 2009 announces exist in period channels; use 7 Dec 2009 as the firm PDF stamp" (VirtualBlock1.pdf). Article still says "September 2009".
- Reset date: this page gives 24 September 2014 (from the wiki Main Page); History of Star Wars CCG gives 25 July 2014 for the Reset announcement and 25 September 2014 for Virtual Set 0.
- Sets 7–11: the 4 December 2006 "Official text as of" stamp is not proven first release; V8 was on CardVault by 12 December 2004.
Marginal cuts
- VirtualCards1.pdf returns 403 on the res.starwarsccg.org CDN; use VirtualCards1a.pdf there, or the Wayback copy of VirtualCards1.pdf for the early framing. No VirtualCards18.pdf exists on the CDN (403).
- Cut "Presentation gap" paragraph: early PDF slips show compact replacement game-text boxes for specific Premiere cards; Block packaging and Current Virtual differ in icons, numbering, legal pools; covered by the "After September 2009" section.
- Cut "HTML / CardVault archival" table (Alpha1 HTML archival pass). Rows duplicating the set index were dropped; extra facts: starwarsccg.org forwarding by 5 July 2009 (HTML); Block 6.3 Mercenaries in the Polish chronology on 15 March 2010 (star-wars.pl); V3 downloadable 22 September 2002 (may lag the 20 September legal day by about 2 days).
- Cut editor instruction: "Do not edit Virtual Block hub Date fields here (Sep 2009 / most-likely values stay unless a stronger primary appears elsewhere)."
- Cut "The 2014 Virtual Card Pool Reset is unrelated" (to Fifth Anthology) and "See Cancelled Virtual Sets for the naming/PDF note" (link kept in See also).
- Removed Sources list: every item is now an inline ref (the PC Virtual Slips item became the previously undefined ref "slips").

Dead link kept as plain text (archive backfill, 20 October 2026)
res.starwarsccg.org/legacyblocks/ returned Access Denied (HTTP 403) when checked on 20 October 2026. The Wayback Machine has no capture with the real content (its CDX index only lists captures of the same 403 error), so the link was changed to plain text with a dated note instead of a Preserved copy (diff). The other cited URLs on the page now carry checked Preserved copies. Comlink Cursor (talk) 00:04, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
Dest (2026-10-23)
Era hub is now Virtual Original. This page stays the numbered set index and legal-day table. Category changed from Virtual Legacy sets to Virtual Original sets. CDN folder Access Denied wording moved off the body (already recorded 20 October 2026). Datacard Grok (talk) 11:11, 23 October 2026 (UTC)
Era map (2026-10-23)
Proposal A: four era hubs (Decipher era, Virtual Original, Virtual Legacy, Virtual Modern), full-pool format Premiere - Original VS17, and Template:Eras. Trimmed Virtual Original and Virtual Legacy to the era skeleton. 2003–2006 Worlds Format cells left blank until a numbered original-VS cutoff is sourced. Set-index cleanup (2026-10-23)
Rewrote this page to the set-index skeleton (short lead + one legal-day/PDF table). Matching indexes: Virtual Blocks (2009-2014), Current Virtual Sets.
Marginal cuts
- "How early Virtual worked" bullet list (sleeve method stays in the lead and on V-slips).
- Launch chronology table (announcement dates stay on History of the Players Committee / VS1 hub).
- Conf. column and the high/med/low key.
- Errata / official-text layers table.
- "After September 2009: Blocks" retell (now Virtual Blocks (2009-2014) / 2009 Virtual Block Reorganization).
Possibly faulty data
- VS7–VS11 and Defensive Shields Date cells keep the 4 December 2006 official-text stamp. Main Page tiles use earlier first-ship dates for VS7 (16 July 2004) and VS8 (24 November 2004) that this index does not treat as proven.
- VS5 Date is June 2003 (PDF CreationDate 11 June 2003); Main Page tile says 6 June 2003.
- VS13 Date is 6 August 2007 (PDF CreationDate); Main Page tile says 22 July 2007.
- VS14 Date is 23 December 2007 (PDF CreationDate); Main Page tile says 22 December 2007.
