V-slips (also Virtual slips) are printable overlays released by the Players Committee so players can use Virtual card text on physical Decipher Star Wars CCG cards. Early instructions told players to print the PDF, cut out the new game text, and insert it in an opaque sleeve with the matching Decipher card (or, with clear sleeves, tape/attach the cutout to the card).[1][2][3][4]

Decipher's own June 2002 cardlists index listed Players Committee virtual sets next to official products and described printable PDF slips for tournament-legal play:[4]

In addition, virtual card sets from the SWCCG Player's Committee provide new game text for selected cards. In printable PDF format, text may be sleeved with your original cards for tournament-legal play.

How players use them

Per early Decipher / Players Committee material (2002):

  • Virtual cards shipped as PDF slips — print, cut, sleeve over the referenced Decipher card.[1][2][4]
  • Virtual versions were marked with (V) in rulings, articles, and deck lists.[2]
  • Players could include both the original Decipher text and the (V) version in a deck, but could not switch a card either way once a tournament began.[2]

Surviving early slip PDFs (e.g. VirtualCards1.pdf / VirtualCards1a.pdf) show compact replacement game-text boxes for specific Premiere cards.[3][6] Later PC slips expanded beyond those compact modifiers (see evolution below).

Premium Virtual Set 1 slip instructions likewise describe cutting out the area beneath the card title and placing the cutout in a sleeve with the original card (opaque sleeves recommended; clear sleeves may require tape or similar attachment).[7]

Evolution

Treat these as versioned layers — presentation, legality, and which cards remain in the pool can change (including through errata and drops). Do not collapse them into a single "Standard" view.

Soft / community wording: players and the PC site commonly call these printouts V-slips or Virtual slips. Early announcements emphasized PDF sleeve modifiers; later PC About copy describes printable "new game text boxes (and sometimes new card names and frames)" placed over existing cards.[8][9][10]

V-Kit

Vkit on starwarsccg.org (app at vkit.starwarsccg.org) is the Players Committee tool for generating customized printable Virtual-card PDFs (select cards / sets rather than only whole-set slip PDFs).[11][12][13] The Virtual Slips library also points players to vKit for a custom selection of slips.[5]
