Introduction
This deck aims to win by forcing the opponent to come to the ground and then beating them to a pulp. Steady drains and invasion await them otherwise… Oh yeah, you get to take a card every time you win battles, which should be all the time.
Decklist
Strategy
The deck title is a little Halloween pun. Recently on the PC site someone was discussing TIGIH and mentioned Skull as a viable alternative to Rycar (V), as far as putting Obi Wan OOP. Then you bust out I Can't Believe and continue to add 5 to your power in ground battles, making stacking THAT much easier. Skull…. No head….Jedi Knight…. Knights ride horses…. You get it, right?
Anyways, Skull is great. I feel it is far more versatile than Rycar (V) since it frees a starting slot, you don't have to lose Force to use it, adds to power (Lando gives you a quick 5 late game), let you use EPP Obi, who is far more versatile compared to his Premiere counterpart. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
This plays like a conventional mains deck. All your sites are pullable. You will generate around 15 Force if your sites are out and Luke's free. This is not a Choke deck by design, but if you are choking you can always pull the Plains and toss them, if you can afford things. The star of the show is Angry Chewie, who is fun with Leia and Han. I included their buddy effects to max out the battle damage. Corran is great as a way to find out where they are hiding and then counterstrike. I like using him against walkers once they spread out.
Retrieval is limited, you can easily add another Edge/Flash/Found, but with the battle heavy focus if you play right before fighting you can get it back with DTF.
As for Uncontrollable- I really want Vader to come out and play, maybe this can help!
It's a pretty simple and fun deck once you get it running. Thanks for reading!
EDIT
Thanks for the review Sithborg! I am truly convinced that in having EPP Obi vs Prem (and his weak GT), I have picked the best route. I don't think I would want to use Balanced Attack since there is no real use beyond pulling Obi (limited use in space), and since it was used in '02, the opponent will suspect what I am doing. The tauntauns idea is quite fun, but I do agree that it would make this less viable.
Thanks for the review, Cam! I had the Apparition in, and it may make its way back in, but I really wanted to control my OOP-ing, and that would make it so I'd lose Luke, Obi, and Qui personas quite quickly... I'd rather keep them around than to get some added destiny, though it may be the better way to go.
Thanks for the review, Outlaw! I don't know why, but I've never liked the DB versions, mainly since I don't like relying on the bonus generation and giving up force.
