Sealed
Sealed is the generic sealed deck format on GEMP: decks of 40 cards built from the product a sealed league gives each player. On the Players Committee GEMP most sealed league types are played under it.[1][2]
- Type: sealed deck (GEMP sealed league)
- Defined by: Players Committee GEMP
- Card pool: the product a sealed league issues, 40-card decks
- In use: unknown
- GEMP: Sealed (
sealed) on both the Players Committee GEMP and play.swccg.com
Card pool
The format definition uses the same set list as Open and a deck size of 40 cards, and marks the format as not a game hall format.[1][3][4] What a player can use is the product the league issues: a league has two series, a player who joins gets the product of every series that has started, and every player gets each later series' product when it starts.[5][6]
Special rule
The GEMP format definitions list this special rule:[1][7]
- Once per game, a player may ▼ a unique battleground not already on table.
League types that use it
In the Players Committee GEMP code, seven of the ten sealed league types play under this format: Premiere-A New Hope Sealed, Hoth-Dagobah-Cloud City Sealed, Endor-Death Star II Sealed, Reflections Sealed, Episode I Sealed, All of the Jedi Sealed and Space Sealed. Jabba's Palace Sealed has its own format, and the two Watto's Cube leagues use Cube.[2]
On play.swccg.com each of those league types has its own format with the same name, and only Hoth-Dagobah-Cloud City Sealed still uses this one; its product file defines no product list for it.[8][6] GEMP's sealed formats are:[1]

History
The Players Committee's Alternate Format Tournament Guide (revised September 2015) gives the paper rules: product stays unopened until players are paired and assigned a side of the Force; in a sealed event each player gives the other side's cards to the opponent, and in a booster draft players pass packs and pick one card at a time. Game time is one minute per card in the deck, so 40 minutes for 40-card decks. The guide lists ten sealed variants, from Premiere Sealed to Secret Squirrel.[9]
The format is in the Players Committee GEMP code and in play.swccg.com with the same definition.[1][10] No source gives when GEMP added sealed leagues or who designed the league products, and no league result is recorded.
