Novelty - Space Sealed is a sealed league format on GEMP for space play: A New Hope and Death Star II boosters with a fixed set of systems, starships and pilots. Its format definition uses the same set list as Open.[1][2][3] GEMP's sealed league type Novelty - Space Sealed uses this format.[4]

  • Type: sealed deck (GEMP sealed league)
  • Defined by: play.swccg.com format; league type from the Players Committee GEMP
  • Card pool: A New Hope and Death Star II boosters, a Rebel Leader Pack and 35 fixed space cards, 40-card decks
  • In use: unknown
  • GEMP: Novelty - Space Sealed (novelty_sealed) on play.swccg.com; on the Players Committee GEMP the league type Space Sealed is played under the generic Sealed format[5]

Card pool

Players build decks from the product their sealed league gives them. A league has two series; a player who joins gets the product of every series that has started, and every player gets each later series' product when it starts.[6][7]

On play.swccg.com the league issues:[7]

  • Series 1: 1 Rebel Leader Pack, 10 A New Hope Booster Packs and 10 Death Star II Booster Packs, plus 35 fixed cards. The Dark Side gets the systems Endor, Raithal and Bespin, Dark Maneuvers, All Power To Weapons, Neimoidian Advisor, Combat Response, 3 Dreadnaught-Class Heavy Cruiser, Boba Fett In Slave I, Black 2, DS-61-2, Lieutenant Cabbel, 2 Imperial Pilot and Zuckuss. The Light Side gets the systems Kessel, Corulag, Kiffex and Yavin 4, A Few Maneuvers, Organized Attack, Mindful Of The Future, Squadron Assignments, 3 Gold Squadron Y-wing, Spiral, Gold 5, Pops, Derek 'Hobbie' Klivian, 2 Rebel Pilot and BoShek.[7][8]
  • Series 2: 4 A New Hope Booster Packs and 4 Death Star II Booster Packs.[7]

The Rebel Leader Pack gives every card of the Rebel Leader Pack set.[9] The full contents of each product are listed at GEMP sealed league products.

The format definition uses the same set list as Open, so the product limits the pool. It sets a deck size of 40 cards and marks the format as not a game hall format, so it is played through its league rather than at open tables.[1][2][3]

Special rule

The GEMP format definitions list this special rule:[1][10]

  • Once per game, a player may ▼ a unique battleground not already on table.

History

The league type comes from the Players Committee GEMP code, where it is named Space Sealed and played under the generic Sealed format; play.swccg.com named its format Novelty - Space Sealed.[5][11][1] No source gives who designed it or when, and no league result in this format is recorded.
