Introduction[edit]
BHBM allows you to deploy Jedi from your reserve deck and cause direct damage to your opponent. Since I like doing both, I thought I would give it a try.
The published list has 63 cards.

Strategy[edit]
I’ve seen a lot of players drop the Emperor at the throne room and leave him there all game. I see no reason why I can’t use him in a much more aggressive role. I’ve found BHBM to be fairly flexible as far as strategy goes which is probably why I’m drawn to it.
Bear in mind as well that this is my first posting ever and I am hoping to take this deck or some variation of it to a tournament in a little while, so any feedback or comments will be greatly welcomed. Don’t worry, I’ve got thick skin.
EXTRA CARD CHOICES
Closed Door - Destiny 7, can be pulled and will severely hurt Rebel Strike Team / Garrison Destroyed
Sunsdown & Too Cold For Speeders - I hate Local Uprising (V) and this would be my answer.
After Her! - Since I plan on battling with Maul and company, I wouldn’t mind retrieving some force after I’m done.
Janus Greejatus – I would love to add another. Drains +1 with the Emperor and can cycle through cards…excellent for tracking that Force Lightning.
Early Game:
Well, it really depends on what your opponent is playing and what you got in you opening hand.
If your facing a space deck (ie: HB or DBO) grab the Executor and get it in space ASAP with a pilot. If it’s HB then grab Security Precautions and watch him squirm as you get closer to his base.
If not, dump You Cannot Hide Forever and grab Imperial Arrest Order to get your docking bays. Personally I like pulling the Back Door then dropping the Emperor there for a drain of 2 first turn. Take your Jedi, Mara and the good Doctor and take the battle to him. Do not go after your opponent with Vader unless you are holding an IT-0 (V), Elis Helrot or Rise My Friend. You don’t want to end up carrying Luke around and losing force needlessly.
Mid-game:
Try to control key sites with your Jedi and drain. There are 10 copies of Maul, Vader and the Emperor combined so it shouldn’t be too hard. If you lose one, throw down another.
Expect your opponent to do something about the Back Door, whether it’s a beatdown or undercover spies or something. Just try to be prepared to defend it.
Try to send Maul after Luke but if Vader gets him, pair him up with IT-0 for a +2 force drain. At this point, if you’ve won enough battles to turn Luke then maybe set it up using Elis Helrot on the Emperor, Rise My Friend with Vader or use the docking bays. Or simply keep draining away.
Just beware, if the amount you’re draining for does not sufficiently offset the 1 force loss from Vader holding on to Luke during your turn, then get him out of there. Forfeit him in battle or Elis Helrot him away (Luke can’t follow).
Late Game:
If it looks close, make sure Vader isn’t carrying around Luke. Hopefully your Jedi will have been able to outlast whatever your opponent has thrown at you. At this point your either winning or not, there’s not much else to it.
CARD CHOICES:
Most of the cards are self explanatory. But…
Blast Door Controls - I hate Barrier, Narrow Escape and Blast the Door Kid. Plus, I can pull it.
Darth Maul - Might seem kind of obvious but...Rise, My Friend only works if you control the site. Maul’s game text makes that much easier to do, providing he doesn’t have a character of ability < 3 there.
Elis Helrot - If you need to get The Emperor back to the Throne Room quick…or…if you need to get Vader away from Luke quick…or…swoop in with Elis Helrot and swoop out with Rise, My Friend!
IT-0 (V) - Drain +2 when escorting Luke.
No Escape - I just don’t like fishing around for it when he pulls HOTJ. This way its out and done. Sure I could start something else but I’m lazy.
Security Precautions - Your best and only defense. Without this card, you’re in trouble vs. HB.
Weapon Levitation - Not as efficient as Blaster Rack but will do the trick. Stealing Obi-Wan’s lightsaber is a big plus.
MATCH-UPS
A brief synopsis of the match-ups I’ve played to date with BHBM. If it’s not listed, I haven’t played it with this deck yet though it’s not too hard to figure it out.
Hidden Base - Pull Security Precautions and get the Executor probing ASAP. Start the Emperor to the throne room and get the extra battle destinies in space. You only have 2 sites to drain at and they will be cancelling them both until you kill hidden base. Tough, but not impossible. Just stay away from super Falcon.
Dantooine Base Operations - Much like HB. Get the Executor up and running. They won’t have much in the way of drain cancelling (hopefully). If they use the Nudj’s take Mara to it and kill them off. Try getting Maul to Dantooine to wreak havoc (he will likely deploy the cheapest).
Local Uprising - Tough, but do-able. Pull the Come Here You Big Coward shield and try to control Hoth. When they lower their shield, deploy like mad.
Watch Your Step - Try deploying the Emperor to the Cantina. What are they gonna do? Just don’t forget to back him up. As soon as Kessel hits the table yank out Enter the Bureaucrat with Fanfare and slow it down. Control their sites with dark Jedi and win.
There Is Good In Him – Okay, I learned that dark side should not use Maul’s duelling text unless it’s a sure thing. That’s about it. Played it once and lost by 3 force. An interesting match up nonetheless and thoroughly enjoyable. Exactly what the game is all about.
And…that’s it. If you’re still with me, then thanks. I know it’s a little long winded and not horribly entertaining! Till next time…
