Introduction

Mesa gonna beatsa yousa down with mesa's Gungan swarm! - Massive ground power, decent drain potential, plenty of space power. The only thing this deck is missing... hey, what IS this deck missing?!

If you have an anti-Gungan bias, don’t read any further or rate this deck. >:)

The only things I'd consider changing in this deck: put in a Thrown Back, and see about getting some decent retrieval (toss in a couple They Win This Round's, perhaps?)

Early game - on your opponent’s first turn, pull Boss Nass from your reserve deck. Next turn, deploy him, use him to pull Rep Been (who will also deploy to the Boss’ Chambers), and use HIM to pull Ohta Gunga Entrance. Odds are you’ll have some more Gungans in hand and some extra Force, so deploy them to the entrance (-1 each), and move them to the Chambers for free (note: Gungan Generals deploy FREE to Ohta Gunga Entrance). On your next turn, pull Steady, Steady with the Boss, and deploy it. Keep pulling Gungans with the Boss, and draw a lot. Jar Jar’s Pole and/or Rebel Artillery should be put on the Fish as soon as they hit your hand. You should draw some of the locations, the Mindfuls, or the SWTJC, so use those quickly!

Early-Mid game - Once the Battle Plains hit table, dogpile a bunch of Gungans there (dogpile’s a harsh term... Jar Jar, Tarpals, a Warrior with an Electropole, a Guard, a General, and a Fambaa is plenty), and play Gungan Energy Shield there. Keep using Ohta Gunga for cheap deploy (like you’ll be needing it with all that activation! >:)

Late game - keep draining like hell at all your locations. You should be getting a total drain of 8 (4 at the Plains, 2 at the Generator, and 2 at Naboo), plenty of activation (with Rep Been at the Boss’ Chambers), plenty of power, high destinies (add a destiny to each battle on Naboo if the Boss is at his Chambers), and a very smug look on your face. So far this deck has gone 3-1, and the only loss was to a SYCFA deck that decided to go for the cheesy space drains (this was before I added starships).

Card Choices:

Superficial Damage - rather than lose those Gungans, why not just toss an Electropole or two back into your deck? You won’t be taking much damage from battles outside of attrition, and this helps out in that reguard a LOT.

Jedi Council - extra activation, and Plo Kloon. Though not the best character in the world, I love using him to screw up an opponent’s tracked 7, and cause a redraw for a 0 or a 1. >:)

Jar Jar’s Electropole - a 7 that is VERY easy to recycle in this deck.

Rebel Leadership - Lets count the number of Generals in this deck, shall we? 4 Gungan Generals, and General Jar Jar. Your opponent will be massively surprised when Jar Jar and a Gungan Warrior are drawing 3 destinies... usually all 5’s!

Nar Shaddaa Wind Chimes - easy recyclable 5, good for some quick retrieval (have to be careful with all the high destinies in here, though), and good for pulling out even more Gungans.

Gungan Energy Shield - While I’ve got a Fambaa here, my characters can’t be targetted by weapons, my opponent’s battle destinies are -1, and it takes +1 force for characters to move to/from here. Now THAT is what I call protection!

Brisky Morning Munchen - The Boss pulls Jar Jar, Jar Jar pulls BMM, BMM keeps Jar Jar alive. ’Nuff said.

Matchups:

Court (capture-and-feed variety)

Easy win. If they’re stupid enough to come to Naboo, b*tch slap ’em and put ’em in their place. If they stay off of Naboo, you’re setting up faster and draining for just as much, so you’ll win.

SYCFA (space-drain variety)

Last time I played this was when I didn’t have anything more than H, C, and the F for space, but it’d be a different story now. While setting up on Naboo, I’d start drawing up a lot to pull my pilots or starships, and start clearing out one system at a time. While this is going on, I’m continuing my drain of 6 on the ground.

Invasion (Droideka variety)

Even match. You’ll usually screw them over in space, but they’ve got you matched in ground power, and are covering all your drain sites. It’s a fun-as-hell game, though!

ISB Ops (30 ORS variety... don’t ask)

In the one game I played against this, they got a great starting hand, and deployed a half-dozen ORS to my Jedi Council Chamber. Several Gungans and ORS later, I was still fighting him off, while running my drains on Naboo. Once again, a fun-as-hell game, but not something you’d see very often.

I’ll post more matchups as I go along, as well as updating the deck’s win/loss record.
