Introduction[edit]
This deck aims to live up to its namesake- by making itself a pain to your opponent through invading their sites with Royal Guards, who are strengthened by the presence of their master, Emperor Palpatine.

Strategy[edit]
Depending on if DDTA is being used, you can pull Carida for activation or ditch YCHF for a multitude of effects (see below). If you catch your opponent unaware, you might be able to do both!
Starting off, you want to get the Emperor to one of your opponent's sites on the first or second turn with the objective. If you can't do it on first turn, I'd use IAO to get the DS2 DB, and then one of the 2/1 Endor sites with LLL. The next turn you can pull the Endor DB and the other Endor site.
This is largely a no flip strat.... but if the opportunity presents itself, why not try for it? To that end, should I include a <> DB in case Luke is hiding elsewhere? If so, what to cut?
Anyways, once you get Palpy out, your Guards can deploy en masse. If it is your opponent's locations, you can usually disrupt their game plan. Royal Guards (non uniques) add destiny when defending with a pike, so you are likely to get more use from them if you go on the offensive versus staying on Endor.
YCHF combo can pull: Overseeing it Personally- adds to drains wherever your Palpy is Inc Losses- Recycle those Pikes! Crossfire- frees up a shield slot, but also add 5 to power with 2 fired weapons. Good for stacking on Your Destiny. S & D- direct damage rocks!
With all your possibilities for adding battle destiny draws (Kir, Myn, BFBH, Guards, Iggy) and many ways of character exclusion (Sniper, YAB, Iggy, DVDLOTS) you should be set up for a beatdown. DJ Presense should be icing on the cake if you can pull it off.
Space is very minor, just enough to pull off an upset in case your opponent thinks you are going with none.
<>Card Choices<>
IAO simply speeds up getting my sites out, plus LLL can't get the DS2 DB. I wanted to at least try and convert Luke if the opportunity presented itself.
I decided to go with no Blaster Rack and BFHI (V) since this is a themed BHBM. If going flip BHBM, BFHI is great since you can get out some direct damage quickly by sending Vader out to play.
Strategic Reserves cancels drains with non unique Imps.
Weapon recycles my weapons in play at the end of the game.
Artillery is some more direct damage.
Ornament represents my limited retrieval.
Thanks for reading, and reviewing! Also, kudos to Darth Hoth whose own Royal Guard deck was my original springboard to reach this deck.
Hoth, thanks for the first review! I toyed with 2 LV, but I like the choke function of Vader. If doing a flip BHBM, I think doing 2 LV is a no brainer. Well Guarded, well, I normally don't get burnt by Grimmy too much. That might be a meta call- I think I will stay without it. Imp Reinforcements (hmm- whose deck does this sound like?) ;)- I would have to give up some of my fun support guys like Maul, BFBH etc... I'm gonna start without it. Thanks for the .02 on the <> DB. Off to the feedback thread!
Swcironecg, thanks for the review! Imp Command is always cool, as is another Imp Artillery. I just don't know what to take out. I'm gonna try to solicit some opinions on the Feedback thread.
PEGD, thanks for the review! I think I will go with Imp Command to add a little more space punch.
