Introduction
One last shot at SYCFA flipping decks before I retire the idea for a while. I want to bounce the idea off of you so I know if it is worth getting the cards I don't have for it. I also need a little help getting some cards into it. It has a new and creative way of defending the Death Star Trench.
The published list has 59 cards.
Decklist
Strategy
If you expect them to run a fair amount of SAC or if you need fewer ones early on, start Oppressive Enforcement instead of Something Special Planned For Them. If they prevent you from starting CCF, start them both.
First turn: If you have a Superlaser or Emergency Deployment in hand, use that and get the Death Star War Room. Otherwise, grab a Gunner.
When you have the superlaser, start moving the Death Star. Pull Mournful Roar (using the Fanfare shield if necessary) and put it on the Fish.
You want to flip as quickly as possible so that you can get your drain bonuses and retrieval going before it becomes late enough for them to be cancelled/no longer feasible.
This plans to flip for its effects, but the drain bonuses are more easily cancelled than the direct damage.
In the case that you think they will try to blow up the Death Star, get Saber 1 and its gun out (Piett->Praji->DS-181-4->Saber 1; CWM->DS-181-4...; Emergency Deployment for gun) and a pilot (it's better if it's high-ability like Vader) and then wait with a couple of force and maybe a SD for them to try to battle you away or else ignore you and let Saber 1 follow and shoot there. The goal is simply to shoot the opponent down instead of reducing the total.
You also pull Imperial Barrier with Field Promotion(V) and barrier Luke's ship to buy some time.
The Empire's Back(V) is in there to get Tarkin. (or possibly Vader as well)
Mournful Roar on the Fish makes CPI much easier. If they're not on the Death Star, and there are no Rebel Base sites, it is possible without gunners. On top of that, LU(V) and EBO are the only decks that tend to run 4+ rebel base sites. Therefore, 3 gunners are not really needed. (A third one would be nice if it could be fit in, though.)
Darth Maul is in there for his Opponent's Total Ability=0 with low-ability characters. It means you will control more locations, so you will do more damage with FWKTIL(V). (hopefully)
Cards I think I want to get into this deck:
-Arica (I have no UC spies in here at the moment)
-More puller interrupts (+1 Emergency Deployment; +1 TEB perhaps)
-Another Death Star Gunner (just in case they *are* running 5+ Rebel Base sites or invade in combination with sites)
-Blizzard 4? (to get out those expensive jedi faster)
-a less flimsy Trench defense (let's face it: DSAS only makes us feel good. They'll battle it away and probably have a high enough total anyway. Unfortunately, this setup is really complicated and card-intensive.)
-something else to pull with Field Promotion(V). I used to have an ISD(V) in there, but I didn't have the space for it.
If you guys could help me with these things and give your own suggestions (and what to take out for them) I will greatly appreciate it.
