Overload is a Dark Interrupt (Lost Interrupt) from Premiere Limited.
Card Text
Target any weapon (except a Gaderffii Stick or any Ewok weapon). Draw destiny. Weapon lost if destiny < weapon's destiny number. If destiny = 0, the character or starship carrying weapon is also lost.
Lore
Weapons like lightsabers, turbolasers and blasters run on powerful energy cells or generators. Occasionally, these cells overheat causing the weapon to unexpectedly explode.

This card can be one of the deadliest cards in the game when used properly. The card text states that you can destroy a weapon by drawing destiny less than the destiny of the weapon. Also, if the destiny is 0 the character carrying the weapon is also lost.
Overload
is the best way to take care of those pesky saber weilding
characters
hiding out on Dagobah. All you have to do is draw a 0 and Son Of Skywalker carrying his saber and Lightsaber Proficiency are all
gone.
And if your opponent is training SOS, then he's going to have to
lose
about four cards to your one Overload. That's good card economy there. So, how hard is it to rig that 0? Well, there are a number
of
good ways to get it done. If using an odds deck, then you could use R2-Q2 who lets you look at the top three cards during your draw
phase.
One of the most popular ways is by using the Dark Path. I'm not a real big fan of this card though, as it requires that you lose 2
cards
in the process.
Another way to rig the destiny is through the use
of
Labria, who lets you look at top card of your reserve deck during
your
control phase. If the top card is Ozzel or a location, it's goodbye Anakin's stick and Luke! As is R2-Q2, Labria is a destiny of 3 and fits quite nicely into an odds deck. When playing a deck such as asteroid-odds in which you're probably going to have about 15 locations you should definitely include a couple of overloads in
your
arsenal (especially since a Dagobah deck can hurt the drain bonuses
up
in the fields).
Overload can also be used to take out those nasty Power Harpoons, which have seen more and more action since Imperial Decree has come into the game. With Power Harpoon being a destiny of 5 it is fairly easy to accomplish the Overload.
Well, if nothing else this card is one of the most fun cards in
the
game. It gives you such a feeling of power to eliminate a Great Warrior such as Luke and his saber with one swift stroke.
Combos:
OVERLOAD + R2-Q2 = DEAD LUKE OR OBI!
OVERLOAD + DARK PATH = SAME RESULT
OVERLOAD + LABRIA = SAME RESULT

Rulings
- May even target weapons not carried by a character or starship (such as a vehicle weapon, artillery weapon, automated weapon, etc).
- May target a card with a permanent weapon, but only has a result if the destiny draw = 0 (character or starship with the permanent weapon is lost); otherwise nothing happens.
