Strategy[edit]
I originally made this deck because I was sick and tired of LSC. I have tweaked it and it demolishes almost anything you throw at it. I wanted to give a couple of props to some of the creators of some combos. First Dave Simone inspired the main engine, the Naboo Occupation and No Escape start. And some of the other force denial cards were from Dark Surgeon by Alex Tennet. The rest is from the old noggin up above ;)
I have only lost 1 tournament game with this deck, and that is because I made a scrub move and totally forgot about the Cantina Shuffle! Doh! The current record is 7-1, the reason why it is so low is because I was trying to keep it a secret. On to the strategy.
First of game be sure to show your Starting effect FIRST. Then of course show Obj and move on to your starting Interrupt. This is were it gets tricky. First play your Naboo Occupation and then play No Escape and retrieve Naboo Occupation into your hand (you will have no other cards at this point) then for the final effect play You Cannot Hide Forever & Mobilization Points, unless they are playing WYS then choose His Name Is Anakin.
YES, this is all perfectly legal. Grab your starting hand 9 cards :) Look to see what you have in your hand. If you don’t have Rendili pull it with Mob Points.
Still first turn (since it is the most crucial). Did you pull an Imperial Supply? Do you have at least 2-3 Droids, Effect Puller? Imperial Domination? You have to know your opponents decks well enough to determine whether or not you want to invade their sites or go straight for Naboo or both. It really is different with each draw and what type of deck you are playing. I will explain the certain deck types below and explain each first turn. If you decide not to invade their territory, deploy a site (if you suspect EPPs not the Core, if so, then any of the others will be fine). Deploy 2 droids at the swamp and the site you pulled. Play Naboo Occupation and drop any other goodies you drew up in your opening hand. You can drop Mob Points to pull Search and Destroy to cause at least one point of damage; it depends on your style of play I guess. Drop Rendili if you suspect small space and move the flagship to Rendili. BAM! Drain for 5 next turn with Battle Plan avoided! During your draw phase find a Barrier and use 3 for Occupation. This is where the fun begins!
Second turn, most of the time you will draw since your hand will almost be depleted from all the deploying. But you will be draining usually for at least 2 if not more. If you have any left over droids, deploy another site and another droid, find more force denial cards and try to invade their territory with your power houses like Maul, Guri, OWO-1 With Backup with Imperial Dominations. From here it seems like clockwork right? Well, they will start to try to save force and you get Broken Concentration out and take 2 away plus the dominations, they HAVE to do something by turn 3 or it is a LOCK.
Mid Game:
Drain and keep their EPPs of your @ss with Barriers. Do not forget you can put all your lost droids on the Droid Racks to be redeployed!
Late Game:
The great thing about this deck it does not deploy a terrible amount of cards. It does however need all of them out for this to be effective. Try to avoid battling, choose your battles wisely, knock off the opponents lone characters. Just play smart and you beat anything that comes at ya.
Card Choices:
Locations- Well why not 2/2 sites! They do not activate for them and you drain for 2. Plus it gets around A Vergence In The Force.
Captain Daultay Dofine-
Gives the Flagship immunity <5 and draws a battle destiny, can fetch him with the text of flagship, why not?
Rendili- the only battleground system I can pull with Mob Points, plus the Blockade Flagship can navigate there without getting lost in hyperspace.
The objective- I was going to do this with Senate, that way I could pull all of my needed cards with Lott Dodd, but I decided the early activation is good and the ability to pull sites is great. It confuses your opponent when you play with this crap, they think you are a scrub and they will get over confident and you walk all over them.
I am not going to list all of the Droids, they should be obvious- SSA Series- (Against WYS, Jedi, puts cards out of play (bye bye EPPs) Security Battle Droids??? Cheap deploy and draws a battle destiny with another battle. OOM Helps Flagship and for some reason forfeits for 4. He is the most flexible card in the deck.
Lord Maul- No other Maul has Federation in its lore and it is for His Ship mostly. Use SPARINGLY. EPP Qui-Gon hurts.
Mauls Ship- In case your Flagship gets blown up lol No for real it is for Hidden Base and WYS. Just in case you lose Flagship and you have to get around Battle Plan.
Broken Concentration- A key card. Period. I put Han, Chewie, and the Falcon out of play a couple of times with this one ;) That is if they have enough to play it. Can put back a force each turn. RAPES Training.
Imperial Domination- This is really only tech, and my preference. If you want you can play with Wookie Kissers, even more Barriers, Self Destruct Mechanism, Look Sir Droids, or Projective Telepathys it is really up to you. I just like using a card that is not played very often.
Questions-
- 1 Why only 1 We Must Accelerate Our Plans and 1 Twi Lek Advisor? That again is preference, I like foily cards :) and what if one gets grabbed? What would you do with the other one? Oh, I only own one We Must Accelerate Our Plans.
- 2 Are you CRAZY?!?
No, play with the deck and you tell me how good it is. I promise this will devastate anything.
- 3 What if I do not get a perfect opening hand?
Trust me I have had some pretty crummy opening hands and I have still prevailed. One game I did not set up Occupation for 4 turns. I still won ;)
- 4 Is Grimtaash a problem?
I have yet to have a problem with it. But if you did not shuffle well enough at the beginning of the game it could get interesting. I do not know why they would save up that much force to play it honestly, wastes a turn for them.
- 5 Is beatdowns a problem?
Most of the time, not. If your area is running Barrier Cancellers amuck use Self Destruct or Look Sir Droids or something like that. Honestly I think the Barriers are essential, because you want your character to be there when you battle next turn to rid them of their presence.
- 6 Will I ever get a beatdown?
Depends on what on you play and your hand honestly. You can do some damage with OWO if they do not want to forfeit for some reason.
Match Ups-
WYS-
You have plenty of options and really it depends on what is in each others hand. I usually invade Cantina or the system and throw a Domination on them. I worry about taking away their activation first while I can set up later at Naboo. This is the hardest match up. That is why I threw His Name Is Anakin in. If you are having a lot of trouble with it, throw in some more WYS tech. Find Guri ASAP and use her wisely! It can be done; I limited an entire game for my opponent only activating 4 force :)
Hidden Base-
Could be tricky, the new shield could help against any first turn beat downs on the flagship until you can pull Captain. Set up on Naboo ASAP, Hopefully you can top deck a system from draining for so much. Rather easy, do not make it hard.
QMC-
I usually invade Cloud City but again it depends of your hand. Once you get a site locked down, start working on Naboo. QMC has always had a problem with activation. I decimated this deck before, EASY.
LSC-
LMAO Might as well as shake hands before you sit down and say +20 in my favor. Honestly, this deck will CRUSH LSC. There ONLY chance they have is if they have a lot of twixes for some reason. If not let them activate 1 force for the entire game. (Most of the time 2 because of the Home One DB) The easiest match up in SWCCG.
Senate-
Another interesting match up. I have played with the deck a while and experimented. IF they get the Hovercam, it could be more difficult for you. Plus them getting Yoda to the Chamber doesn’t help, to stop your Dominations. Then pulling a SAC card of some sort means trouble for your BFHI or S&D.; Sooner of later they will run out of EPPs and your should be able to be spread out while they can not cover all grounds. If this is big in your area throw in some Senate tech or something like tactical recall.
MWYHL-
Broken Concentration. GAME OVER. I played a training deck that never deployed Yoda!
RST-
Take over their sites and setup up on Naboo. You have plenty of characters to stack up in the Bunker. Set up on Naboo rather quickly. Remember Domination shuts down their extra force for The Shield Is Down as well.
Profit-
Invade Tatooine and shutdown the activation. Watch out for Master Luke, He deploys for free. Should not be too hard but could get close, with the direct damage. Watch out for Cantina Shuffle!
Any other decks shouldn’t be a problem, Invade and drain. Easy as that.
I hope you have as much luck with this deck as I have. Do not rate this deck if you are not competent and do not understand the way you play it. Read the strategy first, I just got through spending about 3 hours working on this, for everyones enjoyment. I hope I DIDN’T put too many apostrophes in. I also apologize for the grammer, it prolly is not that GOOD. If you have ANY questions concerning the deck or play feel free to dmail me. Everyone enjoy!
