Kathy Lischke
Kathy Lischke (earlier Kathy Pierce; Decipher message boards: klischke) was a Star Wars CCG tournament director in Northern Virginia.[1][2] She covered DecipherCon 1999 for Decipher, posting five reports to the DecipherCon: Event Report Board from 11 to 13 November 1999.[3] She playtested the Jedi Knights Trading Card Game (2001).[4] In 1997 she was engaged to Tom Lischke, Decipher's new Rebel Base Leader[1], and by 2000 she was his wife.[5]
Tournament director
Decipher's 1997 "People Like You" page called Kathy Pierce "a Star Wars tournament director".[1] On 19 January 1997 she directed a three-round Swiss Star Wars CCG tournament at Destiny Comics in Fairfax, Virginia. It drew 30 players and was won by Jeffrey Glazer. Half of the entry fees went to Children's Hospital. Her fiancé Tom Lischke filled in to avoid byes and checked rulings.[2]

DecipherCon 1999 reports
Her reports covered the Star Wars CCG side of the convention. On Thursday she described the last-minute open qualifier. Light Side Force-denial decks there started with Yavin 4: Massassi Throne Room and Careful Planning, and used a swamp to pull Nudj. She also noted many objective decks, among them Hunt Down And Destroy The Jedi, and Battle Plan as the most common Endor card.[6]
On Friday she reported Joe Alread's win in the Star Wars Ironman tournament, where lost cards went into a shredder. The Japanese Sealed Deck tournament that evening drew more than 140 players.[7][8] On Saturday she named Steven Lewis and Gary Carman as the two finalists of the 1999 Decipher World Championship. Carman had lost his planned decks and built two new ones that morning.[9][10]

Other Decipher work
Lischke was one of the 31 playtesters credited in the Jedi Knights rulebook.[4] Four Decipher employees set a Guinness World Record on 25–27 May 2002 with a 32-hour The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game marathon. Lischke was among those who brought them food during the weekend.[11]
