1999 World Championship
Monsebroten qualified for the 1999 Star Trek CCG World Championship by winning the Bolarus IX Regional. He was one of 32 finalists, with a rating of 1647.[2] In the eight-game preliminary round he beat Ben Lacey in his first game and finished 13th at 8 (40).[4] The top 12 went on to the Round of 12.[5]

As a regional champion he went straight to Day Two of the 2000 World Championship, where 29 seeded champions joined 38 Day One qualifiers.[6][7] He finished Day Two ninth at 11 (97), with five wins, a tie and two losses. His wins included games against Eric Johnfauno and Brian Sykes, who later met in the final.[8][9][10] He lost all four games of the final round of 12 and placed 12th.[11][1]
Decipher published his World Championship deck, "Familiar Faces", among the 2000 finalist decks.[9] It played the objective Operate Wormhole Relays and the Treaty: Federation/Romulan, and seeded six missions: Cargo Rendezvous, Explore Dyson Sphere, Investigate Disappearance, Reported Activity, Sensitive Search and Study Cometary Cloud.
