Strategy
The whole point of this deck is to get Ominous Rumors going, and drain at all three of your systems. First turn, Sunsdown will target Endor, Mob Points combo grabs Wakeelmui (then toss it to grab Perimeter Patrol), Conduct Your Search to grab Back Door, and draw up. You should have at least 2 Defels in your hand... next turn, deploy 1 to the docking bay, and 1 to the bunker. Play Perimeter Patrol, and Closed Door on the Back Door.
With the Defels, you can avoid almost any chance of battling on the ground. The only cards that can really hurt this strategy are SATM, Chewie Protector, Leia Rebel Princess, and the original version of Houjix. Chief Retwin is backup in case I can spot a Protector or Rebel Princess anywhere in their deck (play him to the docking bay), but he's too expensive to use on a normal basis.
While that whole ground situation is going on, you're going to be drawing a LOT. Use Reactor Terminal to get the excess cards back in your deck, and just spread and drain at your three systems. With Ominous Rumors and Chiraneau adding to drains, the total drain at my systems can get up to 13, and the space fleet isn't too shabby! While TIE Scouts aren't all that popular, they're good against other space decks (hyperspeed 5 lets me spread and drain at THEIR locations). With a TIE cannon on one (and an I Can't Shake Him! in hand), and an All Power To Weapons, you can make a pretty big impact on your Rebel counterparts.
Card choices:
Defel - Decent destiny, 'hides' from battles. The ultimate in Dark Side evasion!
TIE Scout - Destiny 4, Hyperspeed 5, can add a pilot. In a swarm deck like this, just put 4+ at a site, and play All Power (and ICSH to add a destiny with a weapon).
Overload - X-Wing cannons can be annoying when all my starfighters are maneuver = 1. Get rid of 'em before they become a problem!
Furry Fury - While HC&F; isn't in Classic format, the Han/Chewie/Life Debt combo is still mean, especially with (V) Chewie pulling Life Debt from your deck every time he wants to battle! This helps keep that a bit in balance... the destiny of 6 don't hurt, either!
Closed Door - "Opponent may not deploy or move to Bunker". Keeps Perimeter Patrol from being suspended.
Perimeter Patrol - Frozen Assets is seeing a bit more use nowadays. With PP out, they have to deploy their characters, wait a turn, THEN battle. By which time, I've deployed Lord Vader with his stick and beat the living crap out of all the most annoying characters, while saving enough Force for my Defel/Retwin to hide from the next battle.
This deck is (IMO) extremely self-explanatory. The Defel's hold the sites, the TIEs drain at the systems (and retrieve with SFS and Short-range Fighters). Anything beyond that is purely reacting to whatever your opponent plays. I've only had 4 matchups with it so far, but it's won them all:
Profit - You're just as fast setting up as they are, and can dish out just as much damage (if not more than) your opponent. Just be persistent, throw down Vader w/ stick at their site just to annoy them, and keep them from capping your drains as much as possible. It eventually turns into a drain race, but you've got steady, reliable retrieval going whereas they probably have the occasional OTE or something.
Hidden Base - Probably a tough matchup most of the time. You don't really have to worry about your ground forces being attacked (but you never know!), and your space forces can hold their own. Most HB decks play SE Coruscant for the drain of 3 and the deploy +2 to Imp starships and pilots... however, just deploy a TIE Scout there to counter that, and each subsequent TIE Scout deploys there for free! Late game, spread and drain.
The other two matchups were in open format (wanted to test the deck before the Classic tourney), and went 2-0. It beat a LSC deck, and a QMC Clouds (becoming popular nowadays!).
- UPDATE******
Deck record so far is 6-0 in tourney play. I went up against a LSC and a AITC. The LSC actually got me down below 20 Force (15 Force win), which is a first for this deck. I think I'll keep this'n around for a while. >:)
