F-Dawg Light Side LSC Deck: Looking for Suggestions is a Light constructed list published on Game Players Network.

Deck info[edit]

Introduction[edit]

This is my second attempt at a LSC deck. My first attempt was a Baragwin/Device type deck that didn’t work too well. So far this one has performed much better, but I’m looking for suggestions to improve it. It’s somewhat similar to a Hunt Down deck I’ve also posted, so please check it out, too. Thanks.

The published list has 59 cards.

Strategy[edit]

The strategy is pretty straightforward. Start the podrace on the first turn, and use the game text of Anakin’s Podracer to get I Did It! out of your reserve deck. You shouldn’t have much trouble winning unless your opponent is also podracing. Pull your docking bays for extra Force. Get Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon to Naboo as soon as possible, arm them with their lightsabers, and start draining. If you’re expecting Sith visitors, then start stacking 6’s and 7’s under them; if it looks like your opponent is going to leave you alone, then don’t bother. Use your Dodges and Rebel Barriers to keep your Jedi alive if the opponent tries to attack you. If they send any Sith after you, then you should have the advantage with Inner Strength and your relatively high average destiny. Just be prepared for cards like Blow Parried. Use your other characters to fortify Naboo if most of the fighting is taking place there, or send them out to raid an opponent’s location if it’s hurting you.

I have many of the same concerns with this deck that I have with my Hunt Down deck. First, it is lacking any space defense. Second, I’m not sure how it would perform against a good Hunt Down deck. Also, I realize this deck is a little skimpy on characters, and I’ve had problems defending Naboo when character-heavy ground based decks have launched an all out assault. I’m usually able to fight them off, but it’s been closer than I would have liked a few times. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Card choice:

Insurrection & Aim High: I like to be able to pull some dockings for a couple of reasons. First, I like having a little extra Force each turn. Second, it gives me a way off Naboo on those rare occasions when things go horribly wrong.

Captain Panaka: Good support character that can search for his weapon.

Chewie, Enraged: Another good support character with a decent character destiny of 3.

Han with Heavy Blaster Pistol: Best ground version of Han.

Jar Jar Binks: His game text is another way to take advantage of your high destinies. His ability to deploy anywhere has also been helpful on a few occasions.

Lando Calrissian, Scoundrel: Adds a battle destiny and a great character destiny of 5.

Leia with Blaster Rifle: Another good support character.

Luke with Lightsaber: Like Han, Leia, and the rest, he’s in there to help out your Jedi.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight: Can’t do lightsaber combat without him.

Padme Naberrie: Searching for Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon is extremely valuable to this deck.

Qui-Gon Jinn, Jedi Master: Just like Obi-Wan, you have to have him for this kind of deck.

Yoda, Master of the Force: Not as good as Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon, but he can do lightsaber combat if you need him to. Also a pretty good destiny of 4.

A Vergence in the Force: Great to cancel their big drains, especially in space.

Brisky Morning Munchen: Perfect combo to reuse Jar Jar’s game text.

Disarmed: Get rid of a Dark Side weapon and a 5 destiny.

Traffic Control: Recycle those high destinies.

Weapon of a Fallen Mentor: Saves you a valuable lightsaber. Also a 6 destiny.

I Did It!: Take full advantage of your likely podrace win. Even though you can’t control a system, retrieving 4 Force is always helpful. Also prevents opponent from saving up Force.

A Jedi’s Resilience: Saves your precious Jedi and a 6 destiny.

Changing the Odds: Good used interrupt with a 5 destiny.

Darth Maul’s Demise: You’ll rarely hit it, but if you do then it really sucks for the Dark Side. Also, there’s no harm in recycling a 6.

Dodge: Get your Jedi out of trouble.

Gift of the Mentor: Usually used to find your lightsabers faster.

Losing Track: In case you need help with the podrace. Also a 6 with a decent used ability.

Rebel Artillery: A used 7 that will work with Panaka, Padme, or Jar Jar and their respective weapons.

Rebel Barrier: Another way to save your Jedi.

The Signal: Grab the effect you need and recycle a 5.

Too Close For Comfort: Helps with the podrace, has a surprisingly good used ability, and a destiny of 5.

Naboo: Theed Palace Docking Bay: Extra Force and a way off Naboo if you really need it.

Tatooine: Mos Espa Docking Bay: Extra Force.

Amidala’s Blaster: Pretty good weapon with a destiny of 6.

Bionic Hand: Destiny of 7 that cancels Disarmed.

Jar Jar’s Electropole: Not really a great weapon, but it is a 7 that can recycle itself.

Obi-Wan’s Lightsaber: Essential for any deck like this.

Panaka’s Blaster: Great weapon that Panaka can search for.

Qui-Gon’s Lightsaber: Also essential for any deck like this.

I don’t own all of them, but these are the cards I have considered adding to the deck:

Leia, Rebel Princess Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight Armament Dismantled Lightsaber Proficiency Strike Blocked

If you think any of these cards would be a good idea, then what do you think I should take out? Also, in light of the new podracing shields that just came out in Virtual Set #3, I was considering taking out the podracing and instead starting with Heading for the Medical Frigate (probably using it to get Insurrection & Aim High, Sai’torr Kal Fas (V), and something else). What do you think? I appreciate any suggestions or criticisms you might have. Also, please check out my Hunt Down deck. Thanks.
