Caldera Righim is a Light Character (Alien) from Tatooine.
Card Text
Unless Great Warrior on table, opponent must have total ability < 8 to initiate a battle at same site. Also, whenever a battle is initiated at same site both players may draw up to 2 cards from top of their Reserve Deck.
Lore
Male Talz. Somewhat of a pacifist, Caldera has always been an opponent to violence in the cantina. Personal friend of Wuher.
Anagram
Michael Girard was Squadron Member Gold 120, from Apache Junction, Arizona.[1] He playtested the Jedi Knights TCG[2] and in 2002 became the first Player Support Advocate of the Players Committee.[3] Caldera Righim uses exactly the letters of Michael Girard.[4]
Strategy
How could you not love a Talz? Especially one that is the little man's best friend! Just like the original Talz always stood up for those poor unfortunates who were the target of weapon fire, this unique furry pacifist doesn't like to see too much violence -- at least, not any initiated by your opponent.
So when the opponent has Vader, Maul, the Emperor, or some other high-ability character with some scrub support, Caldera is your best friend for dropping down to calm the situation. This allows you to block the drain and avoid the beatdown. He will have to move someone away to fight you, and that's your cue to bring Qui-Gon in to even the score.
His card drawing text is just gravy! Great if you haven't quite got to that 5 you've been tracking. You want more? How about that he is a Talz representative for Agents In The Court (Jabba's Palace Sealed Deck objective). Throw in a bunch of Talz's to help him, and he won't ever feel the sting of a blaster or lightsaber! You want more? He is a common!
One word of warning -- beware of 4-LOM With Concussion Rifle!
