Formats

Formats are the organized-play card pools and event types used for Star Wars CCG tournaments and casual games. Decipher-era play used printed cards under Decipher rules. After Decipher ended the game, the Players Committee added virtual cards and labeled constructed environments (notably Standard after the 2014 Virtual Card Reset, and Legacy for the pre-reset virtual pool).

This page is a short index. It does not replace official tournament documents. Full format definitions, banned lists, and event procedures live on starwarsccg.org and in the PDFs linked below.

Constructed (Players Committee)

Constructed events use pre-built decks. The Players Committee Alternate Format Tournament Guide (revised September 2015) describes two primary constructed pools:

• Standard — Decipher cards plus the post-2014 “reset” / current Virtual Set cards (slanted-ring virtual set icon). Described there as the usual championship-circuit constructed environment, including Worlds.
• Legacy — Decipher cards plus Legacy Virtual Cards from before the Fall 2014 reset (black-diamond virtual block icon). The 2014 World Championships was the last championship circuit to use that pool.

Deck construction size and “outside the deck” cards (for example Defensive Shields under a Starting Effect) follow the tournament document in force for the event; see the Tournament Guide and Players Committee Advanced Rulebook.

Limited / sealed and draft

Sealed and booster-draft events use unopened product (or a fixed cube pool) instead of a full constructed library. The same Alternate Format Tournament Guide lists product-specific sealed and draft variants (examples: Premiere Sealed, Official Tournament Sealed Deck sealed/draft, Enhanced Premiere Pack Overdrive, Death Star II sealed/draft, Reflections booster draft, Secret Squirrel) and Watto’s Cube (a fixed ~450-card draft pool). Cube details and the official cube list are maintained by the Players Committee at starwarsccg.org/cube.

The Players Committee maintains additional constructed and casual formats under the SWCCG Formats menu on starwarsccg.org (for example Jawa Format). Full definitions, banned lists, and version notes stay on those PC pages — this wiki does not copy them here.

Closed-environment and themed constructed variants described in the Alternate Format Tournament Guide (Classic, Episode I Closed Environment, Battle of Endor Environment, team events, The Bith Shuffle, and others) are likewise defined in that PDF rather than on this page.
