Watto's Cube with fixed pack Cube
Watto's Cube with fixed pack Cube is a sealed league format on GEMP built from Watto's Cube packs, in which each player gets the same fixed starter cards for each side plus random draft packs. GEMP's sealed league types include a league of the same name that uses this format.[1][2]
- Type: cube (GEMP sealed league)
- Defined by: Players Committee Cube; league type from the Players Committee GEMP
- Card pool: Watto's Cube packs issued by the league, 40-card decks
- In use: unknown
- GEMP: Watto's Cube with fixed pack Cube (
wattos_cube_with_fixed) on play.swccg.com; on the Players Committee GEMP the league type Watto's Cube Fixed is played under the Cube format[3]
Card pool
The league issues Watto's Cube packs for both sides of the Force, in two series. A player who joins gets the product of every series that has started, and every player gets each later series' product when it starts. The cards a player receives exclude duplicates across packs.[4][5]
- Series 1: for each side, 1 Watto's Cube Fixed Pack and 8 Watto's Cube Draft Packs.[5]
- Series 2: for each side, 3 Draft Packs.[5]
A Fixed Pack is a fixed set of 10 cards for one side; a Draft Pack holds 9 random cards from a 290-card list for that side.[6][7] The format sets a deck size of 40 cards, its set list is the same as Open, and it is not a game hall format. Its definition links to the Players Committee Cube page.[1][8] The Players Committee code plays the league under its Cube format, which sets 45 cards.[3][9]
History
The Players Committee calls its cube Watto's Chance Cube, or simply Cube: players draft from "packs" made by shuffling a curated set of cards instead of opening sealed product.[10] The Alternate Format Tournament Guide (revised September 2015) describes the paper version with a 450-card pool, 10 fixed cards per player and 45-card decks, in "Traditional" and "Secret Squirrel" events.[11] In GEMP's league version each player receives packs of random cards from the cube list rather than drafting at a table.[7][5]
The league type comes from the Players Committee GEMP code; play.swccg.com gave it its own format with the same name.[3][12][1] No source gives who built it or when, and no league result is recorded.
