Strategy
FIRST TURN: Before you activate, pull Rieekan and Dodonna with Strike Planning, and Luke with Echo Base Garrison. Deploy Rieekan to the Echo Command Center and use him to deploy A New Secret Base. Use ANSB to pull the one of the Echo sites and one of the Echo effects (Echo Base Sensors is first choice). Use Manuevering Flaps (V) to deploy Luke in Rogue 1 to the 4th marker. Deploy a Hoth site from your deck.
SECOND TURN: Use ANSB to pull the other effect and site. Deploy the other marker site. Using Luke, EBG, Manuevering Flaps (V), and Rieekan, deploy two more speeders to Hoth (if possible one should be Wedge). Use Rieekan to deploy Tigram or Navander if you didn't use his text to pull a speeder.
THIRD TURN: Use Luke to pull T-47 Battle Formation and, if Navander is on table, lift the shield and play it. Use the objective to pull Frostbite (V) or Haven. Deploy Navander with Rieekan if you haven't yet. Deploy Dodonna so that you occupy three Echo sites, and deploy Echo Base Operations.
FORTH TURN: Lift the shield and drain with T-47 Battle Formation. Use the objective, Dodonna, Rieekan, and Squadron Assignments to deploy Haven, Frosbite, and an X-wing to Hoth and deploy I'll Take The Leader. Use EBG to deploy the Bacta Tank, and use the Echo Med Lab to deploy 2-1B (V).
MID-GAME: Keep your retrieval going with Frostbite (V) and direct damage with the objective. If your opponent battles you at Hoth, use Panic (V) to deploy a fighter/pilot match straight from your reserve deck. Echo Base Sensors provides you with activation when your opponent deploy to Hoth, so you don't have to worry about saving force for reacts.
DETAILS: If you pull speeders, X-wings, pilots, or just about anything else in your starting hand, or if your opponent gives you extra force activation, you can get set up a turn or two earlier.
Here is where you should put the speeders:
Rogue 1: 4th marker Rogue 2: 3rd marker Rogue 3: 2nd marker Rogue 4: 1st marker
Luke is your primary defender. Wedge reacts to help Luke. Zen is helpful, but not often needed, so he can be left to drain at the Defensive Perimeter. Hobbie is the least useful of the speeders, so he goes to the Main Power Generators, which protects Frosbite (V) from Alter.
If your opponent is playing Imperial Occupation (V), start Nick Of Time (V) instead of Menace Fades. If your opponent is playing Senate or Watto, start Scrambled Transmission (V).
Rebel Artillery provides more direct damage, and it's a used 7. Yoda Stew puts cards into your force pile so you can fire the X-wing Laser Cannon, or so that your differential goes up. Attack Pattern Delta (V) makes up for the lack of many high desinty cards in the deck. Power Pivot is great for use against the Executor or any other capital ship, reducing power to zero. Houjix cancels Sunsdown & To Cold For Speeders, which could really hurt. Incom Engineer increases your battle destiny by two where you have a speeder or X-wing, which is most of Hoth.
This is how you defend the Hoth system. With all the deck searching features that you have, deploy these cards on table:
Haven Echo Base Operations I'll Take The Leader Bacta Tank any X-wing at Hoth
Use the objective take Panic (V) into hand. When your opponent initiates a battle at the Hoth system, use Panic (V) to deploy a fighter/pilot match for FREE from your reserve deck (starship deploy -2 with Haven, all deploy -1 with EBO, pilot deploy -1 with Haven). You may win, you may lose. All that really matters is that by the end of the battle you still have an X-wing at Hoth preventing Frosbite (V) from being canceled. Use the Bacta Tank to save the pilot, and use I'll Take The Leader to save the fighter. Forfeiting the pilot and the fighter should cover most battle damage and attrition. Next turn, pull Panic (V) from your deck with the objective, pull the pilot from the Bacta Tank (for free if 2-1B (V) on table), deploy him aboard his X-wing, then take off to the system. The process repeats, only now you have two X-wings at Hoth instead of one. If your opponent is playing heavy space, you may want to deploy two X-wings at Hoth to begin with. The X-wing Laser Cannon is for use against Zuckuss. Power Pivot helps against Star Destroyer decks.
