Strategy

This is my first attempt at a Hyperdrive deck. I am primarily looking to use this as a fun deck to take to locals every now and again. Helpful advice and constructive criticism will be welcome.

Starting: Start with the three effects shown in most match-ups, but against BHBM (which is currently quite popular in my area) I would start of with YISYW, since your opponent will most likely drop a first turn Palpy to the Junkyard. This will just make it easier for you to eliminate him. Otherwise, on your opponent’s turn, use Rycar to pull the Saber Proficiency and Obi-wan’s Journal. On your turn, hopefully you will have a Padme or Obi-wan in hand. Toss down Padme to then deploy Obi-wan at the Junkyard, with the Saber Proficiency and Journal on him. If neither of those cards are in your hand, play Qui-Gon at the Junkyard or use the City Outskirts to play him from Reserve. Place the Saber Proficiency on him. Prepare to fight for the Junkyard.

With Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon at the Junkyard with the Journal and the Proficiency, it should be difficult for the opponent to take control of the Junkyard, with you canceling two of their weapon destinies. Toss down a few other characters to help absorb attrition and make it more of a fortress. After you have a couple cards on Credits, use Entering the Arena to pull the Podracer Bay. This is were you will try to set up some traps onced flipped.

After you have flipped, keep on pinging them at your sites and direct damage from your senators. Or go to them if you are confident in some of the cards you have in hand. Hopefully the pinging at the sites and battle damage from trying to take the Junkyard will be too much for them.
