Introduction

This deck aims to rescue the princess with assistance from some V4 cards that can pull most of the cards needed to flip the turn you free Leia. This has gone through a significant change, and in light of all the recent RTP posts, I thought I'd join in!

This deck has become very enjoyable to play with. My only complaint is that every time I've played I have not been able to pull LTE in my opening 8- I figured the odds of that, and its less than 5 hundreths of a percent!

Anyways, on to the Strategy!

The RTP part:

Before the game starts, grab Rieekan and Dodonna. Deploy Riekkan. Use his GT to grab the H:WR, checking to see if R2/lift tube is in there. Drop Dodonna. Drop R2 to Y4:DB. Use a LTE to get your lift tube, deploy to DS:DB. DB transit move R2 to DS:DB, move him again to the corridor with the LT.

R2 should stay inside the lift tube- he is safer there, and he does not have to have to be outside to use 2187 (V) to free Leia.

Next turn, you will be generating at least 2 more force. Use Dodonna to get Gospic (and check for Cmdr Luke and Rogue 1), free Leia (don't forget to drain for 4... he he he), use Gospic to get Luke, use Rieekan to get Rogue 1. Deploy Rogue 1 and Luke to DS:DB. Move R2 & Leia in LT, put Leia on R1 with Luke, DB transit them all back to Y4, then have Leia walk in to flip.

Cmdr Luke is not necesary to flip, but helpful. W/o him, you can probably survive on turn on your own, with Narrow Escapes, Fallen Portals, and Barriers. Evasion is not the theme of this deck, but it is included in case your opponent throws some monkey wrenches in your plans. Luke and his speeder can fight on Hoth or put the hurt on Watto, if needed!

From here on out, you basically want to take the fight to the opponent. You can use many of your pullers to get lots of goodies.

YCHF & Staging Areas can be ditched to pull: Menace Fades or Honor. Plus you have a good chance of occupying some DBs since you start with two out there.

Cmdr Luke can pull: Rogue 1 and Echo Base Garrison

Echo Base Garrison pulls: Hobbie, Bacta Tank, and Cmdr Luke

General Dodonna pulls: Gospic, Lock and Hobbie

Gospic pulls: Cmdr Luke, Wedge RSL and Cmdr Willard, the Y4 and Leia Helper.

Rieekan grabs: H: War Room, Lock, and Rogue 1.

Use your interrupts to keep Leia alive, if necesary, as well as using the Pod to pull Houjixes in case the opponent threatens a beat down. You should be able to bust through your opponents' defenses with Inconsequential Barriers.

OTHER CHANGES:

Wedge231 brought up activation issues. It worked beforehand, but activation was tight. To address that I have included the Holoboard. Endor also replaces Yavin 4, so I can fully utilize the GT on Strike Planning. Many cards got cut, including weapons, Capt. Han, Angrey Chewie, and Squad Assignments.

In their places I have added some ground battlers, who basically can be used as OOP kamikazes once I flip.

Phylo is to make a menace at opponent's DBs. Jar Jar is in as a spy-type, and for his bombs. Tawss Khaa- A little more activation, some decent GT. Corran Horn- another spy, good GT. Angry Lando- what's not to like about being able to hold a site by yourself?

I also used HCF instead of the three personas. I needed the card space, and I get the same amount of battle destinies.

Please let me know what you think of this incarnation! Thanks!

EDIT- Thanks for the review, Catman! Endor is safer activation- as you can see, my space force is not something to be feared, so holding Aquaris might be a problem. I also don't give my opponent Force there.

Using the r2 Houjix combo is a definite no-no. I can pull old school houjix with Escape Pod (V).

Luke/Rogue 1 is pretty versatile, but I know what you mean. If there are no other DBs, and he is used to flip the turn I free Leia, he I just sitting there. You can easily not use him to flip (slowing the flip, of course) and use him elsewhere, like against Hoth or Watto decks.

I've only got 1 DS Plans, so that limits it. I think Secret Plans would limit my retrieval, anyways.

EDIT- Thanks for the review, Rev. As for evasion, I guess I edit my strategy.. It is not altogether dependent on it, since I can Flip the turn I rescue her if all my pieces are in place. Only when things go wrong will I need to evade.

Cmdr Luke has never done poorly in any of the games I've played with this deck. He has cleared hoth of walkers, wreaked havoc at docking bay, and of course, rescued the Princess. He's quite competent.

Keep your tech, I'll keep my cards =)
