Progressive Sealed Deck
Progressive Sealed Deck is a sealed deck format in which each player's deck grows during the tournament. Decipher ran it as a side event at DecipherCon 1999 for Star Wars CCG and Star Trek CCG. Decipher's own description of the event is not preserved; the only account of its rules is Martin Akesson's: play started "with the sealed box, and then you got a new hope booster after each game to boost your deck".[1][2]
- Type: sealed deck
- Defined by: Decipher (1999)
- Card pool: a sealed product ("the sealed box"), plus an A New Hope booster added after each game (per Akesson's report)
- In use: 1999 (DecipherCon 1999)
- GEMP: none

Martin Akesson, who won the Star Wars event, wrote: "The fist day of the convention was a progressive sealed deck, starting with the sealed box, and then you got a new hope booster after each game to boost your deck."[1] He does not say which sealed product "the sealed box" was, how large decks had to be, or how many games were played.
Decipher's score sheets show 5 games on one sheet and 4 on the other. On both, every player played the same side of the Force in every game, as in an ordinary sealed deck event.[3][4]
History
DecipherCon 1999 scheduled the Star Wars Progressive Sealed Deck (event SW.22) on Thursday 11 November, 2 p.m.–8 p.m., Friday 12 November, 1 p.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday 13 November, 7 a.m.–1 p.m. The Star Trek CCG schedule had its own Progressive Sealed Deck (ST.22) on Friday and Saturday.[2][5][6] The schedule linked each event title to a description page (progressivesealed.html), but no copy of that page is preserved.[5]
Akesson wrote that he won the event, with Darth Vader, Tarkin and TIEs in his deck, beating Aldrin Long in the final.[1] Results are on DecipherCon 1999 Progressive Sealed Deck.
