Premiere - Virtual Set 25 Draft is a draft format on GEMP using cards from Premiere through Virtual Set 25. The Players Committee Cube page calls it "GEMP - Holocron Prem-V25 Draft". Each player starts with dozens of the game's best locations, and some draftable cards bring add-on cards with them.[1] GEMP's draft list points this type to /draft/holocron_premv25_draft.json.[2][3]

  • Type: booster draft (GEMP cube draft)
  • Defined by: Players Committee Cube page; GEMP draft file
  • Card pool: Premiere through Virtual Set 25 cards; a large fixed set of locations, 54 picks per side, add-on cards
  • In use: unknown
  • GEMP: Premiere - Virtual Set 25 Draft (holocron_premv25_draft) on play.swccg.com; on the Players Committee GEMP the same draft file is played under the Cube format[4]

Card pool

For each side a player gets a fixed set that includes dozens of locations plus 10 other cards, and drafts 54 cards from a list of 300. Some draftable cards come with an add-on bonus, such as a pilot with a matching starship, and a few draftable objectives are mixed in.[1] The GEMP file has 201 fixed cards in all (99 Light Side, 102 Dark Side). In the pick lists, 27 Light Side and 29 Dark Side cards have add-ons, 28 and 30 add-on cards in all.[5]

  • Dark Side fixed cards (besides 92 locations): Fear Is My Ally, Prepared Defenses, Ghhhk, Sense, Alter, Secret Plans, Begin Landing Your Troops, Combat Response (V), Blaster Rack (V), Jawa.[1]
  • Light Side fixed cards (besides 89 locations): An Unusual Amount Of Fear, Heading For The Medical Frigate, Houjix, Sense, Alter, Aim High, Security Control, Squadron Assignments, Sai'torr Kal Fas (V), Jawa.[1]

Players use their fixed, drafted and add-on cards to build their decks.[1]

How picks work

GEMP shuffles each side's pick list and offers a shrinking "pack": 9 cards, then 8, down to 1, then 9 again, six times over 54 picks. A card already in the player's pool is not offered again, and a picked card brings any add-on cards listed for it.[6][5]

Deck rules

On play.swccg.com the format sets a deck size of 40 cards and is not a game hall format.[2][7] The Players Committee code's draft file names its cube format instead, which sets 45 cards.[4][8] The format's set list is the same as Open; the drafted pool limits what a player can use.[2]

History

The draft is one of the cubes on the Players Committee Cube page, which links older cubes, versions 1 to 7, from 2014 to 2020.[1] The Players Committee GEMP code has the same draft file under its Cube format; play.swccg.com gave it its own format.[4][5][2] No source gives who built this cube or when, or what "Holocron" in its Players Committee name refers to, and no event result is recorded.

Tournaments

No tournament on List of SWCCG tournaments is recorded in this format yet. Events are added here when their page gives this format.
