Playtesting
Playtesting is a GEMP format that adds GEMP's Playtesting set to the Open card pool. Only GEMP administrator and playtester accounts can see it.[1][2][3]
- Type: casual
- Defined by: Players Committee GEMP
- Card pool: the Open pool plus the Playtesting set (GEMP set id 501)
- In use: unknown
- GEMP: Playtesting (
playtesting) on both the Players Committee GEMP and play.swccg.com
Card pool
The format allows Decipher set ids 1–14 (Premiere through Theed Palace), premium ids 101–112, current Virtual Sets 0–27 (ids 200–227) and the Virtual Premium Set (id 301), plus the Playtesting set (id 501). Its definition sets the playtesting flag.[1][2] The definition sets no deck size, so GEMP uses its default of 60 cards.[1][4]
The public GEMP code reserves 300 card numbers for the Playtesting set but has no card files for it; the cards being tested are not in the public code.[5]
Rules on GEMP
- The game hall, the format rules page and deck validation show the format only to administrator and playtester accounts.[3]
- In a Playtesting game, every Defensive Shield in the Playtesting set for the player's side is added to the cards outside that player's deck.[6]
- A player (not a bot) may use a special action on the top card of their Reserve Deck to upload a card.[7]
History
The format is in the Players Committee GEMP code and in play.swccg.com, which descends from a copy of it, with the same definition.[1][8] No source gives when it was added or who uses it. No tournament is known to have used it.
Tournaments
No tournament on List of SWCCG tournaments is recorded in this format yet. Events are added here when their page gives this format.
