- Placing an Imperial out of play to add to attrition occurs during the power segment, after all destinies have been drawn.[1]
- An Imperial cannot be placed out of play if there is no attrition (no battle destiny was drawn, or the draws were all canceled).
- If the undercover spy is somehow prevented from being lost (e.g. Droid Shutdown), Hess is still lost.
