Hello. I don't normally write tournament reports, but since this was a big one, I figured, Go For It! I don't have any funny stories about what happened on the way to the tourny, so I'll keep it simple.
My LS was MWYHL 1st test Heavy Tech.
My DS was AT-AT Ops w/Decree.
Game 1- My LS vs. Brad Kipple's ISB Spaceport Docking Bays. He starts IAO, I start wise advice. First turn he deploys a couple drain -1 systems and a docking bay and picks up. I deploy Yoda's Hut, Yoda, and pick up. He drops Evax to a spaceport docking bay on blizzard 2. I play a PoS on it and lost Grimtash, get 3 ORS. I deploy Training Area, get jedi test, and Deploy DoS from hand w/electrobinoculars. He deploys some people to another DB. I deploy Epp Han Epp Obi and Chewy to take them, I draw a six he draws a two. All my characters live thanks to Yoda. Eventually he flips his objective, but the damage was already done, a couple On the Edges to end it. Space drains at Coruscant and Kessel save the day.
Win by 21 2(+21)
Game 2- My DS vs. Jamie Abel's MWYHL-just yoda
He starts with Planet Farthest, I start w/ Surface Defense(Resistance, Secret Plans) I drop my sites, some systems, get Den of Theives out early. It's evident that his deck is based on one big beatdown to win, so I take it slow. When I have three ops on the Den, I drop an At-At to each site with some pilots and flip. He drains me one a Kashyyyk(DS) and one at Lower Corridor. I'm draining at three sites. The Big E comes to take care of Captain Han in at Kessel, but I inflict no battle damage. I eat some uncontrollable fury for about 5 turns. He's down to 3 life force and I have 12 so he battle's me at Kessel. I forget to once per game for five during weapons phase(Oops!), and draw my battle destiny. He loses his remaining life force to the battle damage.
Win by 12 4(+33)
Game 3- My LS vs. John Woollen's HDADTJ Epic Duel
He starts Bad Feelings and I start Insurrection. We lose from Visage for 2 turns. He drops the Cantina and Firt Strike. Next turn he drops Vader and Mosep the Cantina. I drop EPP Luke and say Bring it On. He doesn't duel so I battle miss Vader and draw a 3 for battle destiny. He continues to drain two. I drop Jeron Webb and Commander Vanden to Holotheatre, and GL on G1 to Coruscant w/Spiral in hand. Han comes down to Lower Corridor with Narrow Escsape in hand. A random Off the Edge Reveals a Don't forget the Droids. I can't find EBinoc's so I track the 6 for the rest of the game. Random On & Off the Edges go uncontested. Drains of 9 per turn do the rest.
Win by 30 6(+63)
Game 4- My DS vs. Geoff Snider's Space Inserts(No HB)
He start Rendevous Point and Battle Plan, I start Corulag, jungle, Surface defense( No There Is No Try) This game was not very memorable. He gets Dagobah out and plays Planet Farthest, I drop a ship and 2 pilots at Endor, and an ops and Ds-61-2 to the swamp. I never see a monnok the entire game. I get the Big E on the table and continue to drain at sites. He Grimtashs me for 3 ops and 2 Twi'leks. Eventually he starts inserting for 2 force a turn. Ground drains kill him.
Win by 18 8(+81)
Game 5- My LS vs. Frank Lamantia's Drazin AAIghhhhhh!!!!!
He start IAO I start Wise Advise looking for Scans. He doesn't do much early besides pick up. I get Leia w/ Binoc's and Yoda set up on Dagobah. Starts to play Aggghh!!! to make me lose cards. He sets up Drazin, Vader w/Stick and Evazon at Security Tower. He monnoks every turn. Eventually I grab Aggghhh!!! I get space going early with RLonR1 at Kessel. I get a Grimtash thru and see he only has a Vader's Personal Shuttle in hand. GLonG1 to Coruscant. EPP Obi goes to the audience chamber. He must have played Agghhh!!! 8 or 9 times before I grabbed it. He didn't drain the entire game. The final play was Vader getting Clashed and Drazin eating cards from Orrimaarko.
Win by 24 10(+105)
Still undefeated only on other undefeated left. Next person down has one loss w/ +68.
Game 6- My DS vs. Chad McCory's HB EPP
I start Surface Defense, he starts Wise Advise. My ops get there normal start. Some sites, I Twi'lek for Security Precautions and draw up Den of Theives. Second turn he deploys more systems and plays planet farthest, and drops 2 ships to Tatooine. Two turns later I flip, play a starship to Coruscant and Battle Order. He summarily flips his Objective and beats me off the system. He also deploys a bunch of EPPs to my sites in an attempt to flip my Obj. back. He doesn't succeed, but manages to make me pay for my force drains. I manage to probe on the first attempt and he loses 7 to the Security Precautions. Late game I drop Executer to Coruscant to try to reestablish Battle Order, but he uses S-Foils and drops 3 X-wings to accompany the 2 already there and I lose Executer to Battle Damage. He drains me out. After the game i found that he had gotten all four EPPs in his opening hand(Ouch!)
Lose by 9 10(+96)
After the last game, I learned that Joe Mournout who was 8(+68) going into the last round won by 45! Now I don't even get to play in the Finals. Well too bad. I finished 3rd out of 49. I guess that will do for this year. Anyone with questions about Tech can feel free to Email me.
