Strategy
What is it? It's a Death Star drain deck, that's what it is!
Bit of backstory for you... I've always wanted to find a way to play a LS drain deck on the Death Star... after all, having that many sites with "Force Drain +1" on them just begs for a deck to be built! So, I was fiddling around with my Rescue The Princess deck one day, and decided to have some fun. This is the end result.
Before you start commenting on the lack of massive activation... LOOK AT THE DEPLOY COSTS. I have one character in here who deploys for 5, one character who deploys for 4, a handful that drop for 1-3, and a few who drop for FREE. Activation is hardly an issue. >:)
So... basically what you've got going on here is an extremely off-the-wall drain deck. With 4x Control & Tunnel and 3x HDWGITM, getting most of the Death Star sites out shouldn't be too much of a problem. The character base consists of some old-skool mains, some freebies, and some cheap forfeit fodder... and, in most cases, TECH. Luke, for instance, is an activation source. Premiere Leia is in here because she's a spy. This version of R2 is being played because of his game text. Phylo, Lobot (V), Tigrin (V), and Kal Fal are freebies... and Lobot's got some serious reaction issues. Gungan Generals are instant forfeit fodder... two Force for 6 forfeit. Ouch.
Interrupt base is rather off-the-wall as well. Put yourself in mind of an older QMC evasion deck, and you'll start to understand what's going on. Now, imagine what happens when I'm reacting TO battles instead of FROM battles (eg 'Tube over Luke w/ gun and Lobot, use Lobot to grab Han, drop Han's gun on him as a 'react' from hand, start shootin').
Retrieval is, obviously, pretty decent. Destinies are good enough that each Death Star Plans can get you 10+ Force back, and Flash Of Insight (V) is a constant nuisance card as well.
Beyond that, you're looking at a deck that's hoping to win by making your opponent laugh too much to think straight. Once again, I'm just throwing stuff together for fun... give it a try some time, and find somebody to play against who's got a good sense of humor.
Enjoy!
