Chris Coffee was a Florida Star Wars CCG organizer who arranged the first SWCCG Open sanctioned by the Players Committee, held at a gaming convention in Kissimmee, Florida, on 22–24 March 2002.[1] He and MaryGail Coffee described the event on Radio Free Decipher Broadcast 119 (15 March 2002).

Star Wars Open, Kissimmee 2002[edit]

Coffee said central Florida had a core group of product champions and no Star Wars event of Open status. After MegaCon's dates did not work, he took the event to a Kissimmee gaming convention that had asked him for Decipher representation, and obtained Open status for it.[2] The Open ran on Saturday 23 March from 10 a.m. Prizes included a set of tournament foils and an uncut Imperial foil sheet from Reflections III, and the winner received a bye at the World Championship.[3] Coffee said he had taken a break from the game and returned to playtesting for the Open.[4]
