<<The Strategy>>

The basic objective of this deck is to force drain and cause direct damage, retrieve, and battle when necessary.

First turn I pull Roche, an Asteroid Field, Big One, and the Asteroid Cave. On subsequent turns I pull the rest of the Asteroid Fields and the remaining systems. The way I play this deck really depends on the type of deck I go against, of which there are three general categories:

All Space:

This confrontation will probably mostly be battling, with some Kessel and Rycar’s Runs thrown in for good measure. It will probably be a close game, so ideally I will play smart and get some beatdowns in if the opponent leaves his Executor alone or something like that. Wedge, Dash and Theron Hett in their ships would make a good battle squad, with a Freighter Captain in a YT-1300 for forfeit fodder.

Ground deck with a compact but strong space force:

This game will probably be a tough one. Decks like COTVG and TDIGWATT, just to use a couple examples, usually concentrate on ground but have space forces adequate to give you a bad day. This game might start out early by taking out the opponent’s space force, with the latter part of the game dedicated to a drain/direct damage race. This is also where Obi-wan will come in handy, doing some hit/run to take out weak parts of his/her ground forces.

All Ground:

These types of decks SHOULD be pretty easy to take out, but I’m not going to get overconfident. Most decks tend to have at least SOME space, but for those that don’t my plan would be to just spread out and drain, keeping control of the Asteroid Fields and sitting Obi-wan at the Asteroid Cave to fulfill Battle Plan. So far I haven’t seen any non-space decks other than my ISB, but I’ll keep the possibilities open.

Card Selection

(V) Asteroids Do Not Concern Me:

Pulls asteroids and Rycar’s Run, causes direct damage when you control asteroid fields

(V) Red 5:

Why not R2 w/ Red 5?

Well, first of all it has higher maneuver for the asteroids, and it can also cancel annoying game texts like (V) Mist Hunter or the old ZiMH.

Closer?!:

With this card you can pull off Rycar’s Run in two turns, and it also has a nice high destiny to track.

Lost Relay:

Can cause some extra direct damage against the opponent; also has a neat picture.

Asteroid Cave:

To fulfill Battle Plan

This is my first attempt at a Hidden Base deck. Please rate accordingly. ;)

Thanks for reading, God bless, and MTFBWY.

Thanks for the review! The main reason I am using YT-1300's is for the Ralltiir Freighter Captains. I never planned on putting them in the asteroids, they're for Kessel Runs. I'll try to fit Hobbie back in; he was in my original 'stack' of cards that I wanted in the deck but got cut out. As for the Darklighter Spin combo I don't have it.

Shewski: I don't have the YISYW combo or the Battle Plan combo, so I'm sort of stuck there. If I take out the smugglers I can't do Kessel Runs anymore, so should I take out all of that? (Answer in the feedback column) I don't have Colonel Cracken, but I'll try to get him. I can definately try They'd Be Crazy To Follow Us, Ineffective Manuever and the Tanks. Thank you for the review, but unfortunately I don't have some of the key cards you recommended.
