- Description: A pretty straightforward TRM with a few tweaks.
Strategy
This is a pretty straightforward TRM, which means that everybody pretty much understand the cards and how they work. So instead of a strategy section, I'll describe all 3 LS matches I won in the Norwegian Nationals a week ago.
I would also like to add that this is the first tournament ever (!) where I've played TRM, although I've played it a lot in casual games.
First Match:
Dark Deal.
My instant reaction was that this would be an easy match, and I was absolutly right. Although he ruled space, the game was (effectivly) won in a battle against a lone P-59 (an unfortunate survivor of his beatdown attempt the round before), where I dealt 20 overflow. No problems. This restored some balance to the force, since he beat me terribly at last years Nationals ;)
1-0 (+24)
Second Match:
Carbon Chamber Testing
This was a slightly worse match-up than the first game, and against a very good opponent (last years winner).
He killed my Home One early with a Gravity Shadow maneuver, thus throwing me out of space. But somehow I managed to get complete control on the ground, making this game a drain race. A Vergence In The Force won me this game, since he drained for 3 at his Kashyyyk (with a SD and the admiral from DS2).
2-0 (+16)
Third Match:
Bring Him Before Me
This is a really funny match to play, since both decks are designed for beatdowns. He made a crucial mistake, playing his Emperor alone (with Emperor's Power) at the DS2: Throne Room. About 20 Force overflow. The rest of the game was won with Boushh blocking him on the ground, and me draining at Kessel.
3-0 (+23)
Conclusion after these games:
Tanus Spijek (v) rules, and A Vergence In The Force will never leave my LS deck(s).
3-0 (+63)
Going 3-0 with my LS was a big surprise, but TRM is really awesome :)
That concludes half of my road to winning the 2005 Norwegian Nationals.
I'll be posting my DS deck in a day or two.
