Strategy

Everyone says "you didn't read the CC shield, because it can't retrieve OMDH when stacked." We got our signals crossed. When I say the CC shield hurts this deck, especially with On The Edges, it's because the shield stacks the edges on it, meaning any loop I have is wrecked and each On The Edge I play will get me less and less force back. I wasn't thinking about the OMDH's at all. While both may be stacked, at least I can get 8-10 back twice instead of five and four as I would with On The Edge x2.

IF YOU GET A CHANCE, please rate my TR from MN states, and if anyone says, "this deck only won because you beat scrubs, who do you think I am really? My rating is 1654, not horrible, but not earth shattering.

Please read this if you have any questions at all prior to reviewing this deck. Thank you.

Update: I don't need the extra ships to hold anything, and I'd rather use Naked Threepio than Mirax if I wanted to cycle cards. By the All Wings Report In, I assume you mean the combo. Well, that's a thought, but I don't need to get set up any faster and I don't have a second one, so that's that. Also, I know how to track, but the only think I'd use On The Edge for is to kill off Obi before a smackdown, and I use the Qui-Gon's first anyway. OMDH is easy to pull off, and it's not expected. Also, the Code Clearance Shield doesn't hurt it. Lastly, OMDH's are free sixes as opposed to 2's with Edges. That always helps.

Update 2: To the person who implied that "I need to read the Code Clearence" shield again, I did. After a couple edges, the retrieval trickles down to fairly meaningless levels (considering you're playing a lost interrupt in the process) and the loop with Luke is gone, since the cards are stacked. OMDH retrieves 8-10, then is lost. Well, many times, another one can be set up to retrieve the first, considering the opponent might only be doing 2-3 damage a turn.

Also, several people have pointed out this is under the "intermediate" section. There is just one thing to say...OOPS. Disregard that to stupid mouse clicking.

File under Advanced.

Creation

As I went into Minnesota States, I had a few decisions in regards to decks. Dark would be a Maul's Hut Senate, but light was more of a question. I've always been comfortable in space with light decks, and I played EBO for a long time. However, I didn't think EBO would be a good choice due to the IO/IC Walker decks around and HD in most forms. Still, I knew Profit and WYS have been very popular in the past few months, and I figured that most everyone would be teched out mostly for those decks, which are ground based (esp. Profit), and also speeders.

Thus, I settled on HB Matching. I tried the EBO incarnation, but I thought it was card intensive, and it was difficult to get all the sites, systems, and characters down as early as possible because I activated so much. This deck has offensive capabilities, both in battling and draining, and on the flip side, it can basically shut down many opponents as well.

Setup

First turn, pull Rieekan and Calrissian before you activate. With Wokling, you're getting four force guarenteed. Activate, at the very least, you'll be able to deploy GS1 with Lando to Rendezvous Point. Deploy Endor from reserve if you can, Tatooine if you activated Endor. With a couple force given by the opponent, you can pull Haven with Wokling and deploy it to R. Point instead. GS1/Lando then goes down for 1 force. Rieekan then deploys for 2 more, and he pulls Lock Navander who deploys for 1 with Haven. Move out for free to Endor.

Second turn, continue pulling systems and getting ships down for dirt cheap at Rendezvous Point. Pull Aquaris as soon as possible, not just because it's the HB (because that's just what I used) but because with A Few Maneuvers, four ships can move directly from the Point to Aquaris. Luke/ship does it even without. That's free early activation to the tune of +3.

Then on, just pull the systems, use a C/TV to look in a large force pile if you want. Try and flip as late as possible, the later, the better.

Card choices and secondary strategies

Seven Systems: Why you ask? Simple. Each has a purpose in the deck. Endor is my first turn system, basically a twix you can drain for one at early game. Kessel, Naboo, and Kiffex are my big drain systems, where I deal most of my damage. Aquaris is a system where the opponent can only drain for one, but with a starfighter, you activate four from it. Tatooine and Alderaan are the two ends of the some of the easiest retrieval in the game coming from OMDH.

Matching Pilots: I like matching better than an X-wing swarm for a couple reasons. First, it's a lot of power that doesn't depend on any other card, such as S-Foils, Organized Attack, etc. Second, the ships also provide nice bonus abilities. Dash/Outrider reduces power, Wedge with Corran, Tycho, or Luke cancels a destiny. Even my two capital ships help. Spiral deploys for two as a react, often the difference between a destiny and none with Zuckuss. Home One goes down for 8 at Rendezvous Point with Haven and can move out for free.

Our Most Desperate Hour x2: Simple, one turn retrieval. No tracking required. Basically, I can easily get 8-10 force back twice a game. Deploy the effect, target a rebel at Tatooine and then move over to retrieve bunches. I have the capability to retrieve up to 16 with one OMDH, but it's not generally needed. Luke will retrieve one a turn almost every game, and with him, Corran or Boshek on a ship, Calrissian, and a spy and/or Qui-gon at a site, I get 8 or so back.

No SE Coruscant: Simple, I don't need the drain, and it's parsec 0. That's just one less planet for the opponent to have to probe.

"Lockdown"

Well, unless you're playing Dark Deal or another deck where their force drains can't be tampered with, you're in complete control after a flip. Even if you're playing that type of deck (or something similar), two undercover spies and Projection slow the opponent down majorly. The objective cancels two drains, Boushh/TK-422 cancel up to two drains and are helpers for retrieval with OMDH, Projection reduces a drain, or even shuts off a ping of one at a random site, and Lost In The Wilderness is basically cruel.

What about Battle Plan/Search & Destroy?: This is what Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are for. Pull the forest with Rieekan, then deploy it to a random planet, probably Alderaan or Aquaris where there is no "named" DB. If they have Spaceport DB, wait until they deploy it. Qui-Gon or Obi goes down and holds a site. If they come down en masse, you have a couple Houjix's and their characters are basically stuck at a site where you just use Projection to cover yourself. Easy.

This deck preformed admirably at last weekend's State Tournament. I appreciate any advice you have to give.
