- Description: This deck was made originally about 1 year ago. It became much better after Cell 2187 (V) came out. Lots of fun.
Strategy
This deck was built and played at last years NYC Open that had about 30-40 people at it. The deck played well but because it was built the night before there was lots of room for improvement.
After Cell 2187 (V) was released, it allowed me to start 3 effects and get the extra cards I needed out earlier. I put this deck together around 1:30 in the morning on Saturday - about 7 hours before Ray Bordier and Crew (Shaw, Kafer, and Dansbury) left. So I typed up the decklist and got some sleep.
After making one change when I showed up to the event (I originally had 2 Lando, Scoundrel listed but decided to pull him for Owen and Beru for Watto defense) I had a deck that I felt was unstoppable.
This deck starts with Cell 2187 (V) and Strike Planning every time. If the opponent starts with Mobilization Points, then your third effect should be Don't Do That Again, otherwise start Wokling (V) for the force generation.
You pull Rieekan, and then drop him and R2 from reserve for free. Pull the Echo Command Center, play other sites and 3po if you get him then move R2 and draw. (Path R2 if you get 2 in your hand, otherwise if you have just 1 in hand, hold it until you free her)
On your next turn you want to get Rogue 1. Move R2 to the Detention Block and just draw. Use the EPPs if you need to at this point- or just wait one more turn for some OOP goodness.
On the 3rd turn, you free her, path her and drain for 3 at the docking bay (5 if you have Leia's Back (V) in hand). You then drop a pilot on Rogue 1 and move Leia into the War Room to flip with Rieekan.
From this point on, you just hit and run and drain at Leia's site while either occupying 2 BG's or keeping them off 1 to stop the Coward Shield. You place everything unique out of play when lost and they lose all immunity - so have a blast doing your thing.
One Tech tip - Han, Chewie and the Falcon can make Zuckuss OOP during a battle because even if your battle destiny is reduced to zero - your attrition is +2 - and because he is not immune to attrition, Zuckuss goes Out Of Play.
Another tip – using Threepio you can continuously use We’re Doomed for an infinite loop (unless they grab it instead of the Resilience or Edges – which would be a mistake on their part).
Some problems that will be helped once I change some cards:
1- Set For Stun killed me in the final duel so I will be switching out the Desperate Reach Combo's for the Coruscant interrupt that stops barrier and set for stun.
2- Force Lightning is a problem. I will be adding in an 8d8 (in case I get him in hand I will try to free her first with him (so I can retrieve) but I would move both 8d8 and R2 at the same time so I still free her as quickly. I will also look into adding another R2.
3-Stunning Leader...I am going to add some cards that stop this maybe.
Some Deck Matchups
Hunt Down - Once you flip, go after Vader, Maul, etc and place everyone out of play while you use your Tank and Resilience to keep going after them with EPP's. Placing Vader out of play is a game winner for you and it can be done by turn 4-5 every game.
Combat - I need to add in some changes but it really is simple. When you flip, you win because everything goes out of play. You just need to stop the evasion. A Smoke screen in the deck might help Vs Lord Maul before you flip.
Senate - This can be tricky but you do have a simple solution. Flip then hit and run against the Senate. You always get destiny and just keep placing them out of play, one at a time. Afterwards, take out their space fleet then use the edges to get some force back. This will be a close game but if you flip quickly you should be ok.
Watto - You will definitely take quick damage but once you flip, you just need to start placing things out of play. Knocking out Watto, Maul, Vader, Palpatine, Reegesk, etc can really put a hamper on the deck. You will catch up quick once you flip because you have lots of sabers and Barrier protection.
DS Hoth Objective - No freaking clue. :) My guess would be to flip ASAP, and then shuttle to hoth using the docking bay transit with the speeder for some added help. But mainly use your barrier protection to hit and run so you do not get stuck in an Ice Storm. At-ats lose immunity too and are placed out of play so they will have nothing important to take into their hand. This should be close because of the direct damage from the shield and their effects, but you can pull it off after flipping.
Dark Deal - Flip quickly then take over the locations ASAP to stop their occupation and Deal. You can take over Bespin easily after flipping. Placing everything out of play is good for you. Lots of lost characters for them.
BHBM - Give them Luke and then once you flip place everyone out of play. This is the easiest matchup you have because they can't do anything to you once you flip. Vader and Palpatine are lost pretty easily.
Scum - They lose the ability to use Scum effectively because they lose everyone to the OOP area. Non-unique scum can hurt but all you need to do is go after their rep in the AC with Qui-Gon or whoever to get around None Shall Pass. Use your barrier protection for the other EPPS and take them out early.
Fear (V) - Flip, then go hit and run their ships wisely using the spiral effectively for fodder, knowing that everything they use will be placed out of play. Go after the ship with Chiraneu first then systematically move to their other locations. Use the Bacta Tank effectively along with the Resilience.
Anything else I forgot...just flip and have fun with it.
